Hit 210lb goal, but not in the shape I want. Aiming now for 220lb, with visible abs !
Goal (Long):
Get 10% bodyfat, and see the abs clearly defined.
Stretch the tape over 18" on arms, and 27" on Thighs.... while keeping the waist tight.(32 would be perfect). Weight likely to be around 220-225lb..
Outstanding physique and conditioning ... and 45 years old. For me, this physique is the goal. Classical balance and cuts, without being a pure mass monster. The pinnacle of bodybuilding in my humble opinion.
What do you do before your workout to get motivated and energized?
wake up with a coffee !

How has bodybuilding and fitness helped and/or changed your family life?
Improved passion for life, and drive.
My other half, son, and Dog now regularly get out to walk, go fishing, and we (the 3 humans) have taken up archery.

Are you a parent?
Yes
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you to be a better parent?
I think it has helped by setting an example for my son. I eat better, and encourage him to do so .... and exercise, and he sees that. We do however still watch movies, and play XBOX360 so there is a balanceI think it has helped by setting an example for my son. I see you upping your goal weight...gotta love that cardio...and darn diet ;p Diet has been the big thing for me..once I changed that everything fell into place.
I always treat the lats (width) and rhombs/midback (thickness) as separate groups, usually working them on different days. Lat workouts are usually a form of pullup or pulldown. Pullovers held in the stretch for the final rep finish them off nice. For thickness: traditional deads, rack deads, bent rows, t-rows, rope rows to the face. Seems to work best when I split them. Let me know what else you need to know.
haha remember to lather rinse repeat! In honesty when cutting down I go for ninety minutes of cardio per day 5 days a week and eat once a day between 1 and 5 as much as I want but high protein!
lol Oh man! I am sorry to hear about the packers! lol at least they didn't lose as badly as the Titans haha! My day was actually pretty good my friend! I hope that you have a great evening and stay motivated!
Hey Ben, gave kind of a short answer to your question. Give me a few days and I will email with you and see what you are doing and where you want to go with your goal. Take care, Randy
Hi Ben, I am competing in LA Dec 5th, wish you could be there, I dont get down there, so I dont no anyone. o well, lol.
I started training young and never had a bad problem. Did for a few year get up to abouyt 250 lbs but I have a dietition and he maps out a plan for me and I follow. The diet and I dont me a diet, i mean way of eating is the real way to get rid of gut fat, then you add in you training. Anyway short not have to run to work. Take care talk later. Randy
the honest way I have found is to drink more water because it releases stored subcutaneous fluid...other than that increase the meal times to speed up the metabolism and I love high rep sets to add a bit of cardio to my lifting
the way I did it was to just keep eating large bowls of oatmeal with whole milk all through the day and large meals in between with chicken, salad and even spooning peanut butter out the jar! haha! It was some serious work but to answer ur question it is still a battle of the mid, but working to get it gone!
Sorry about the slow reply, i am just figuring out things here. I have a diet guy and coach, one in the same. I repressent him. Diet is the thing, you would be suprise how much muscle you really have. Competing is, well nuts, lol but i have always been conditioned so its not to difficult for me and i enjoy it. Competing down in LA in Dec, well that is the plan, lol never know what may come up. Take care, Randy
