Overall Goal: The finish line is sometimes merely the symbol of victory. All sorts of personal triumphs take place before that point, and the outcome of the race may actually be decided long before the end. ~Laurence Malone
Fit Status:
kinda happy my loose fit jeans are actually not so loose on the thighs.....
When I was 16 a co-worker of mine had a muscular physique that I really admired. Started talking fitness with him and then worked out with him a few times and then joined a local gym. Worked out on an off through the last few years of high school and first couple years of community college. When I went away to University I got serious about lifting, dragging my roommate with me to the student rec 4 to 5 times a week to lift. Actually met my fiance there at the rec, she was a big lifter herself. So after we both graduated and moved to Illinois, we joined a gym and a few pro's that work out there convinced my fiance to do a competition. Out of support for her, I dieted down with her and decided to do the show with her. After that first time on stage I got addicted and have been at it ever since.
Why I Love It:
I love BB because of the drive that it gives me. I get a high from the feeling of a great pump. Training and dieting for months for those 15 minutes on stage, such a great feeling when your up there.
How I Stay Motivated:
Besides the shows that I do that drive me, I love to see the progress. Since I see myself every day I don't see the changes all that often, but every so often someone at the gym will comment to me about how much I've grown. It's such a motivator to keep going at it when you know that your hard work really is paying off.

Goal (Long):
Just competed in a show May 2nd. Placed 2nd out of 10 in Novice L-Hvy and 4th out of 11 in Open L-Hvy class. New goals will be to win my novice class and a novice overall, as well as top 3 in open class for next competition. Would like to stay a light heavy, and will need to come in more conditioned to hit that weight class. Extremly long term, I would like to bring myself to a level of being able to become a nationally qualified BB in NPC or a Pro in NGA, so that my fiance and I will still be able to compete in the same shows together.
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
Have tweeked a my right bi, and at times for no apparent reason it will start to get sore when I fully extend my arm with pressure on it

Do you track your workouts (exercises, weight, reps, etc.)?
Yes
If so, how do you do it? Workout log, software program, etc.? Why do you do it this way?
I use a work out log and when I set a new max I log it to my bodyspace

Where do you mainly workout?
Gym
Why? What are the pros and cons of working out there?
The pro's about working out where we do is all the other competing BB that workout there, specially the pro's. The downfall would be that it can get a lil busy on monday and tuesday nights as well as in january, but all gyms are like thatThe pro's about working out where we do is all the other competing BB that workout there, specially the pro's. So I have been training my legs pretty hard since my last show and have begun to start cutting weight for my next comp in 13 weeks. I have been excited because normally my legs are the very last thing that begins to come in on me, so I normally have to diet real hard at the end of a show prep...
Glenn - Congratulations!!!! wow married over the weekend. This is great!!!!! Wish you a passionate, full of love, life lasting marriage and lots of healthy and cute babies!!!!! Cheated one day over the weekend, but see progress since changed diet slightly and started lifting heavy. Down to 126 (was 124.5 before the weekend). Will keep you posted on my progress.... But for now, please enjoy your honeymoon!!!!
I think you have the size man...seriously...plus, working with you during the off season he would help you ensure that you gain the size you need, then when show time comes around your conditioning would be spot on!

Ive never had my BF measured right before a show, but I suspect it is around 3-4%
Hey man...thanks!
You are looking pretty ripped yourself. I have been working with Dr. Joe Klemczewski for my nutrition, and my physique has never been better! Makes all the difference in the world.
Ever heard of him?
Thanks for the add man. Looking great in your comp pics. My goal is to hit the stage a year from now. Working hard to achieve it. ALWAYS up for talking BB man. Let's do it!
