When I Started:
Feb, 2006
How I Started:
Actually I have been exercising to lose weight since I was about 18. I was always a chubby child (10lb 4.5oz at birth..wasn't ever small!) and then as an adult I struggled to lose weight. As I worked and worked, no weight was going anywhere so I decided that if I couldn't shrink my figure, I'd add muscle to it. It was interesting how I gained muscle like lightning, but then my body refused to let go of the fat over the muscle (my body and fat have known each other all my life, they're really good friends and have a hard time saying goodbye)so I more or less ended up looking like the pillsbury dough boy. Yuck. Took a bit of a hiatus when I found out I was pregnant. But I'm back to try again.
Why I Love It:
I don't like it at all! I think it is hard work, but I keep doing it because I know what needs to be done to get and remain healthy. I do enjoy walking though. The fresh air is a stress reliever.
How I Stay Motivated:
I had gestational diabetes when I got pregnant (had decided to ignore the scale when building muscle before...hit 250 pounds when I got pregnant...Oops)So after I gave birth, I was more determined than ever to shed these pounds so that I can live longer, stave off the threat of adult diabetes, and hopefully have more children.
BB Accomplishments:
So far I've lost about 70lbs since I gave birth and I've managed to loose 10% of my body fat. Used to be 42%, now 39%.

reduced spare tire! Side view..clothed
I have no idea how much I weigh at this point because we're moving and my scale is somewhere in transit between England and TX. However my clothes are fitting better, I am wearing one size smaller, and I don't have so much of a spare tire. I'm not where I need to be, but thank God I am not where...

Taken just a week ago. Standing in house. Weight loss still slow going. 187 pounds now. Tummy trimming down nicely, other parts shaping UP...thank GOD! Started over with the eating plan. The exercise was not trimming me like I needed. Wish me luck!

Goals:
Main Goal:
Lose Fat
Goal (Overall):
Trim excess fat from my belly so that I can look my best and be healthy.
Goal (Long):
I've been a big girl ever since the day I was born (a 10 lb 4.5oz baby!) and I've longed to have a trimmer sexier body. As I don't see myself ripped with a six pack, I would definitly be proud to sport a little definition and a smaller waistline. I would love to weigh 185 and so far I weigh 200 and have lost 70 pounds in 2 years. Yeah, 70 pounds and I am 200 pounds...do the math! 70 pounds is nothing to sneeze at, but I know I can do more and finally be that better me.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 15 lb

Sounds like we're on a similar mission. I gained 60lbs when I was pregnant! 5 months later and I've gotten rid of most of it. It looks like you're making great progress, you must be good at building muscle. Keep it up.

You are not that doughboy'ish at all. Good intense look an face! You seem to have the same general build I have with sort of the same situation. The only thing that seems to work for me is to lift like a powerlifter and try to eat as cleen as possible. I can not se my abbs...But I can flex them and hold a 200+ person up with them while I talk about the weather.Good luck!
