How I Started:
I have been involved in sports my entire life. I quit playing ball after a knee injury in college. I continued to workout but focused mostly on cardio. (fyi.. I just realized that's a very long time to focus on cardio ;).. Once I reached the ripe age of 35, it quickly became apparent to me that things were not going to stay where they SHOULD be without a little help..and as I am a needlephobe (i know i'm a nurse..go figure) surgery was not and option...I have completed a marathon and several sprint tri's. I hired a personal trainer in June and she took me to the next level. I finished with her in September and continued to workout on my own, using what she taught me. I just hired a new coach/trainer to help me to the NEXT level of my fitness-my 1/2 IRONMAN triathlon! :)
Why I Love It:
It's my time to shine!! haha... seriously now...i wouldn't know what to do with the extra time if i didn't and finding out isn't an option cuz it would probably involve me...a tv... and a trough full of vanilla ice cream w/ chocolate syrup! not a pretty picture i just painted for ya'll!! :)
How I Stay Motivated:
My son saying "come on dad! mom just did 50 real pushups in a row! she really kicked ur butt!"
BB Accomplishments:
not sure if this counts as bodybuilding, but i've improved my full recovery time between speed sets from 4 minutes to 1 minute!!

I am not a housewife.... I am an athlete <^^>
You know you're a triathlete when you have no friggin idea what to do with yourself on your off day. damnit, i mowed the lawn, cleaned the house, washed the car, and there's still 4 hours of daylight left! aarrgghh!
