Overall Goal:  I need suggestions about supplements that will help me retain muscle and regain the 30 lbs I've lost since Dec. 2008 due to two rotator cuff operations. Will not be able to workout for two more months, HELP!

Fit Status:  Two recent shoulder operations have kept me out of gym. Lost 30 lbs, anyone have suggestions on retaining muscle and adding it back?

When I Started:
Dec, 2002
How I Started:
I used to weigh 350 lbs at about 30% body fat. I wasn't happy with my appearance so I decided to start lifting weights and doing alot of cardio. Have a close friend who is an amazing motivator in the gym. I owe alot to him for kicking my tail everytime we worked out. Since he was about half my age you can imagine I got my tail kick alot, but it was worth it!
Why I Love It:
Working out makes me feel and look better. I'm in the best shape of my life at age 50.
How I Stay Motivated:
I keep a photo of myself when I weighed 350 lbs on the refrigerator.

Gain Muscle
Goal (Overall):
I need suggestions about supplements that will help me retain muscle and regain the 30 lbs I've lost since Dec. 2008 due to two rotator cuff operations. Will not be able to workout for two more months, HELP!
Goal (Long):
I had shoulder surgery on Dec. 23rd, 2008 at a weight of 235 lbs at around 12% body fat. So I've not been able to do any upper body workouts since then. Still having problems with the shoulder and the doctor is keeping me out for another 6 to 8 weeks. Since the surgery I've lost roughly over 30 lbs of muscle dropping at one time to 198 lbs. I've gained back to 209 lbs but I've a long way to go. Does anybody have suggestions on how to go about stablizing my muscle mass and possible gaining some back? I'm still doing lower body workouts and cardio everyday while taking 56g of Carbo Hit twice a day and 96g of low carb Pure Whey Protein Stack while eating clean 6 times a day. I need help!
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 30 lb

9%

Hang in there man! I have been working around the cuff tear until the surgery, but you have to be very careful on what you do.....Just try to stay as active as possible until your back in full stride!!

I just read where you used to weigh 350. Awesome job in dropping the weight. You sure don't look 50 at all.

Thanks 4 the add. It's surprising to read that you can't gain weight since you were very big at 1 time. Being tall like us, you must eat ALOT.... every day. I supplement with shakes to make up the calorie/ protein balance.

Thanks for the comment man. Keep up the hard work with yourself, you accomplished the hardest part of the journey so far, building up that lean muscle mass will be cake. Stay focused and good luck :)
