Why I Love It:
Bodybuilding is the most honest thing there is. Everything you do is worn on your physique and you can’t lie about it. There’s no brown nosing for status or sleeping your way to the top. There’s no slacking off when the boss is away and pretending to work hard when he’s around. You can’t let some one else do it and take all the credit. It’s just you, the iron and the truth.
How I Stay Motivated:
A long time fan of the sport as a spectator I love it even more since I started lifting 12 years ago. I love the life it has given me and the pride I take in doing it well. But I also love the small challenges -- getting the most out of every set, having the strength to eat what I should even when everyone around me lacks the will power. I just love it.
BB Accomplishments:
Short competition history done mostly for fun. Too old to have any plans other than to have fun.

Goal (Long):
At 49 it's not like the Mr. Olympia is still a realistic goal so I train because I love it and I like what I get out of it. My long term goal is more to learn all there is to know about competitive bodybuilding so that I can be more effective in training others. An Idaho version of Charles Glass maybe? LOL.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 30 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
3%
Upcoming Contest:
Utah Cup

Just had the most incredible tricep workout. Immediately after working y chest we did three sets of close grip bench press (135,225,275) followed by three sets of cable pressdowns (200,245,290) and then two sets of Skull crusher "drop 50s." What they are is . . . I did 110 lbs for ten reps then immediately grabbed the 60 lb bar and did twenty more. When we were done muy arms were so stoked I ran in to measure them. My biceps remember were not pumped up but my arms had gone from their usual 19 to over twenty inches. They were so pumped they hurt!Just had the most incredible tricep workout. Have you ever had a lifting injury?
Yes
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
Had a serious shoulder injury a few years ago from bad form. The doctors told me I'd have to have surgery and that I'd never lift again. My chiropractor Larry Nelson (the best there is) put it back in place and I'm lifting far heavier now than I was then.
I severed my left bicep in a freak accident a few years ago and have t have it reattached. Rehab took 6 months and motivated me to get certified as an exercise therapist.
Tore my groin about four or five months ago doing leg presses without taking tiew to warm up slowly but I'm back pressing over 1300 lbs again.
Tore my rib cage about three months ago but it's healed already.Had a serious shoulder injury a few years ago from bad form. The doctors told me I'd have to have surgery and that I'd never lift again. My chiropractor Larry Nelson (the best there is) put it back ...more

Why I like this video: Awesome mass. I'm a huge fan. Was the guest poser at a 2006 show I did. Talk about "Mass with Class". He's a great guy with a great attitude. Would love to train with him.
