I was on the swim team in high school and they MADE us go to the weight room once a week. I have to admit I thought it was ridiculous to lift weights when all I wanted to do was swim. But seeing the muscle I was getting and the tone on my arms I was in love!!
Why I Love It:
For one..I met my husband in the gym. But seriously, there is no greater achievement than to improve yourself day after day-a constant battle-you versus the weights. I love the individualized aspect of weightlifting. I am the ONLY person I can credit with any success I achieve, AND I am the ONLY person I can blame for my setbacks. I love trying to find the perfect balance of lifting and diet-trying new workouts or tweaking my diet. The challenge of creating a beautiful, muscle laden body. I love when a person comments on my figure that I look like I workout..it just makes your hard work feel so rewarding.
I want people to realize that I gained 70lbs. during my pregnancy and had a 56" waist!!HARD WORK IN THE GYM AND DIET HAVE HELPED GET ME BACK INTO SHAPE!!
How I Stay Motivated:
I have absolutley NO problem with motivation. Some days I may feel I have less energy but that makes me want to push myself even harder!! Music gets me motivated-Reveille, Nonpoint, Cannibal Corpse, Nothingface, etc. I also have an outfit I bought that would look good on me once I lower my bf and loose a little weight. I have it hanging in my bedroom and look at it daily for a constant reminder of where I want to be.
This is me doing cardio ONLY 7 days a week a minimum of 1-2h a day. NO WEIGHT TRAINING!! As you can see it wasnt getting me any results.
This is me doing HIIT cardio 3x a week and busting balls with HEAVY weights 6 days a week. Main focus has been heavy weights, compound moves, supersets, all that fun s**t!
Keep building lean muscle while slowly lowering my bf!!!
Goal (Long):
Hello all!!! I have been lifting weights for about 6 years now and am hooked! Looking back though, I would consider myself a casual lifter then while I was a working very hard. BUT going about things in all the wrong ways. I NOW understand the importance of taking complete rest days, DIET DIET DIET. I havent eaten any sugar or "white flour" type products since I was in high school-BUT just eating healthy and not counting macros or consistently eating every 2-3hrs can completely hinder your progress. I am now on a consistent pre-contest type diet and am focusing on taking supplements like L-glutamine and EFA's instead of taking "fat burners". My macros are 40p/30c/30f. I used to consider myself very educated when it came to lifting and diet but I am now learning more than ever since joining this site. I am constantly trying to improve (arent we all??) and this site has been key in assisting me with my goals. I don't judge my progress by the scale but by what I see in the mirror.
Stopping by wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope your husband hasn't deployed yet! I am thankful that I get to be home with my kids this year! Stay strong and keep kicking ass!
Just noticed you may drive a fox body with a windsor. Do you drag race?
I actually hate fords/mustangs lol but good to see other american car fans on here =) also your music taste is great as well!
Anyways take care! keep working hard
Incredible work, it's really difficult to believe that you once had a 56" waist. Excellent progress..it appears as if you have found that winning combibation. Way to go T.
Hey girl!! I noticed your taking animal cuts. How do you like them? I wanted to get some feedback on how they are working for ya. Also I noticed your from GA!! So am I!! :)
