Overall Goal: To put on 20 lbs of muscle and lower my bodyfat to well under 10% (like 5. Whatever it takes to bring out the six pack lurking beneath). I want 2 more inches in my chest and 1 more on each arm.

How I Started:
Body for life
Why I Love It:
It's my lifestyle. I love to be fit and healthy. I love looking good. I love the feeling from success, the triumph of overcoming obstacles, the concept behind motivation and discipline that bodybuilding requires.
This wasn't taken when I first started. I don't have a real "before" picture. But I had definately put on some weight here. I weighed 192 and my waist measured 36" here.
No where near as ripped as I want to be. MORE EFFORT!!

Goal (Long):
I'm at 10% bodyfat and higher than I was last december and still don't quite show the abs. Solution? 1. Even leaner. ALL my bodyfat sits in my belly. Just the way it is. 2. More ab muscle. Of course, I don't really know where I'm at with that. I've worked my abs, and worked 'em hard for many years. Still, I know I can work them harder and build them from where they are, wherever they are under that stubborn layer of fat.
Current plan is to move into a carb cycling eating routine and continue with as hard o' lifting as I can, doing cardio in the mornings and hitting the weights midday.
Ultimately, I want to put on about 20 more pounds of muscle or so (that will be my push for 2010), but my short term goal ('til the end of '09) is to lean up to 5% bodyfat while maintaining the muscle I have.
I'm moving from 1 gram of protien x lean body weight to 1.5 x goal weight. So going from about 150-160 grams daily to 270ish. Meanwhile, I'm cutting the carbs back to about 90 grams a day during the week and then I'll up them on the weekends (cutting back on the fat). I'm hoping that the higher protein will actually help me put on muscle while I'm trimming up...but like I said, my primary goal is the fat loss...so if I'm not getting there after a month or so I may cut back on the protein a bit.
I've tried higher protein before but never cut the carbs as much, and have always started getting fatter without gaining muscle when I tried. So we'll see how this goes.
Started with Body-for-Life. It's not perfect, but I learned a lot and have a lot of respect for it, especially for beginners. I've developed my own workout routine over the years based on similar principles and by reading a lot of articles in magazines or online.
However, currently I'm trying out Hypertrophy Specific Training (HST). I have a hard time putting on muscle and I'm hoping that I can see some better growth results with this program.Started with Body-for-Life. So, I've finished my second week of the new workout program and have discovered a few things.
First, I can't push that hard twice a week. MAJOR burnout. I might get more conditioned to things and be able to go to twice a week eventually, but for now I'm going to make an adjustment...
