When I Started:
Apr, 2006
How I Started:
Three years ago I joined a gym because everything was heading south. I worked out consistently for a year, and then started to drift away....until this past July when I decided to recommit.
Why I Love It:
I love how fast my body responds. Every day my knapsack containing laptop, etc. feels a little lighter.
How I Stay Motivated:
My new gym is practically right across the street from where I live, and I love being there. Coming out here and checking out amazing transformations. What I have found to be the most helpful is the encouragement & support I receive out here. Thanks!
I want to learn to consistently put my healthy lifestyle first. Ahead of my mood, ahead of 'fitting in', and ahead of food temptations.
I want to DARE to look and feel great!
I will be focusing on the following behavioral goals: 1) planning lean and clean meals, and eliminating emotional/unplanned consumption episodes JUST SAY NO!
2) Building a sensible and challenging workout plan, and adhering to it.
3) Building more activity into my daily life
Why? What are the pros and cons of working out there?
I work way harder in a gym than I do at home.

What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?

What is the most common reason that somebody gets injured while lifting?
Doing too much too soon. I also think that my shoulder issue started with using weight machines for shoulder and chest. I stay away from them now & use free weights.
The past few weeks have been crazy busy socially. A lot of dinners and parties, and I was feeling really good about how I handled them. Then comes Thanksgiving weekend (in Canada we celebrate in October) with my family. The week beforehand (last week) I noticed myself eating more, and I...
Eatfest continues....LMAO! Sorry I never answered you question about the Marines. The United States Marine Corps is the finest fighting force in America. Marines are renowned world wide for their military prowess and fierce fighting style. Our warrior culture is similar to that of ancient Sparta where everyone; men, women and children lived by the warrior's code of Honor, Courage and commitment.
