How I Started:
I've been working out my whole life (on and off). It wasn't until this year that my interest for transforming my body peaked.
I've always enjoyed running, so I decided to start entering 5ks. I ran my first 5k, as an adult, in April of 2007. I ran my second in Sept. and was training for a 10k in April of 2008 when I landed on the injured list (my advice: shop for a GOOD treadmill, especially if you're tall. You probably already knew that; I didn't.). It's been about 4 months with this back injury, and I'm just now beginning to feel as though I could start TESTING my running out again, maybe in January of 2008. But, it was this injury that led me to become more interested in my weight training. All my back would/will allow is the elliptical and my weights - THANK GOD!! I found I love it more than my running, and I would never guess I would be saying that.
That elliptical, as boring as it's getting, has been a life saver on more than one account.
Why I Love It:
I find I get bored easily, but with weights I have so much versatility I never get bored. Plus, I just love being strong and getting stronger. I also use my training as a time to just get "lost". My days are so hectic, it's acutally something I look forward to.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing other's progress helps motivate me, as well as positive, energetic support. And, like everyone else, I'm motivated by results, and I'm seeing them, so onwards I go.

This picture was taken in Dec. 2005. I was 247lbs and just over 50% body fat! I hadn't discovered I enjoyed lifting yet, although being strong and having muscle was always comforting to me.
WOW! I can actually see the muscles a lot more than I thought I could! I'm definitely getting there, even if it is slow going. 194.8 with less than 40lbs to goal!!
I am going to transform my body and be the voice for many that they can do the same.
Goal (Long):
I've always been fond of strength and being above the stereotypical woman. I've always been active in some way, but managed to let my diet slip. Mainly because I had no one that knew any better to teach me the right and wrong things to choose. Now that I am aware of these things and learning I have faith I can be what I desire. My goal is by October 3, 2008 to be 18% body fat or very near with a physique that could compete if I wished to. I would like to be the voice for many that this can be done if you dig deep and stick with it!
As my bodyspace home page states, I had to stop running because of what I thought was a back injury. I later found out that it's more of an alignment issue caused by a glute/ab, hip flexor imabalance. I've had to rely on the chiro for 8 months now to keep me in alignment. I finally...
Been crazy busy with school-it's TOUGH being back in school after 20 years! I bit off more than I could chew-as usual-and dropped my statistics class. It was just TOO much! I'm taking it over the summer instead-6 weeks, 4 days a week...phew! Hope the Nova is purring like a tiger :)
