How I Started:
*Not interested in 'personal relationships' (hooking up) on here. I'm here to keep track of my progress and stay motivated :).*
I was pushing 140, which, doesn't seem like much, but on a 5'0 frame, it was quite a bit. I had been a wee bit 'chubby' most of my life but wasn't motivated to do anything about it until getting shut down by a dude. It wasn't so much the guy that motivated me as the way I felt afterward. I was mortified, embarrassed, and lacked any self-confidence. That was almost five years ago.
Why I Love It:
The results are addicting. Also, going to the gym and/or going for a run are therapeutic. I really enjoy zoning out and putting my mind in neutral with my body in overdrive. It gives me a chance to work out frustrations and recharge.
How I Stay Motivated:
The high I get from working out and seeing how far I've come is more than enough to keep me going.
BB Accomplishments:
I started running a 12 minute mile, I can now run one in half that time. While it sucks to go into a store and try on size 0's that are still too big, I can't help but smile at the same time as well.
Other than the obvious benefits (appearance, health, etc.), how has bodybuilding and fitness improved your overall life?

What heart rate do you aim for while doing cardio? Why?
After a few interesting months of moving across the country, ending a relationship and such, I am back on the fitness track. I've gained a couple pounds but I'm not too concerned about my weight so much anymore. I feel more toned and leaner and my clothes are even loser than they were...
