I started when I was 14 years old for cheerleading and haven't stopped since. That was over 18 years ago! I began reading everything I could on lifting and nutrition. That's when I discovered Monica Brant. I was amazed by her muscular yet feminine physique. I imagined what it would be like to be a competitor but being from a small country town with not a lot of money, I couldn't fathom anyone like me could ever reach the level like Monica Brant. So, in my mind, it was just a dream but I kept lifting for my own desire. Over the years while still lifting, I worked my way thru college, got married and started my career. I then suffered a devasting miscarriage. I thankfully was able to have my second child. Soon after, I was diagnosed with level 10 dysplasia (begining cervical cancer) at which point I re-evaluated my life. I decided to do what I always loved and dreamt of which was fitness. I left the stress of the corporate world and decided it was now or never. I have determination like no other and there was no reason why I could not be successful as a competitor. I trained even more intensely, entered my first show and earned my National title. I am now competing for my pro card, I am a fitness model, personal trainer, nutrition advisor and figure competing coach. I can say proudly that I am one sexy, successful Mom!! lol An average girl from a small town who was determined to make something of myself. I am definitely living my dream!
Why I Love It:
The challenge, the discipline, self gratification and the inspiration it gives me as well as others.
My goal isn't TO INSPIRE others, My goal is to keep working my own butt off to earn my pro card. The bonus would be that THAT will inspire others to work.
How I Stay Motivated:
By staying focused on getting my pro card.
BB Accomplishments:
Earning my NPC title by placing in the top two of my first competition! Being bodybuilding.com "Figure Athlete Of The Week", World Physique May Model Winner, All of my pro qualifying shows, Getting 4th place at the Arnold Classic, Having people tell me I've inspired them and that they are fans of mine is a huge accomplishment to me!
Always was active but I really was slacking at hitting the weights and doing just too much cardio. I had a corporate job that tied me to my office late every night. By the time I was done with work I had zero energy to lift. I was what they call SKINNY FAT! Not to mention I'm really white and look ...
Team Universe in New York! What a show and I felt AMAZING on what I brought for the judges! Next stop, Arnold PRO AM again in March! Come cheer me on! ;-)
Elijah puts his heart into this sport and has pure dedication. On top of that, he's a sweetheart too! This is what the bodybuilding family should all encompass to be considered a true athlete!
So round and round I go on the sponsorship merry go round. I've now decided the circus act with this company is haulting to a dead stop because I'm jumping off. I'm so perplexed as to why a company would initiate contact with me to sign with their company if they're not going to complete...
I am well aware....that is the biggest part. When your doing it for others it takes away the feeling of acheiving. Which for me has happened before....I used to love to workout but then the feeling was taken away and I had lost it till a few months ago. Im trying to shed weight before I get to lifting like I was.
I just stopped by to wish you nothing but success as you work towards your fitness goal. Too many people think it can’t be done and so they don't even try but you have proven that with hard work and dedication it can be done. Keep up the great work. I look forward to watching your continuing progress. You are a great example to so many others.
Hi beautiful Sara im doing well thanks just adding some lean muscle mass now on my offseason and next year do some more competitions. Hopefully qualify for my nationals again.
