Background

When I Started: no information entered
HOW I STARTED:

I had been working out on my own for a couple of years, when I hit a plateau and asked my husband for a series of training sessions (for Christmas) with local National B'bing competitor, Shelly Yakimchuk. He came through....and so did she!!! Next thing I knew, I was competing!

WHY I LOVE IT:

I love the self-confidence it gives me; and the challenge of bringing lagging bodyparts into competition form.

My husband and I started a weight-lifting club at the local highschool, as well as taking on many private clients....and they keep me motivated! I really believe that competitors have to look at themselves as their greatest competition....I strive to put a better "package" onstage at every show.

NEW GOALS!

Hi to all who continue to follow me, and I hope your training is going well.  I have been busy as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Saskatchewan Amateur Bodybuilding Association, and in addition to having a Novice and a Provincial competition this year, we are also putting on the 2011 Canadian Fitness/Figure/Bikini Nationals on July 23rd.  In conjunction with that show, there will also be Men's 202 and 202+ bodybuilding classes for Pro-cards.  It should be a great time!  For me, my goal is to make a stage come-back in 2012 in the Women's Elite bodybuilding class, which takes p...

Overdue Update

This entry is looooong overdue, and I thank all the people who have continued to respond to my blog.  The 2010 National comeback didn't happen, as I had major surgery to both feet late last May.  Then, followed 8 weeks in plaster casts, a walker, living in a recliner...the whole 9 yards.  Both feet were surgically broken to correct problems that had only been getting worse with heavy lifting. That has kept me from actively working out for many months! Things are slowly returning to "normal"....in the meantime, I have been devoting myself to coaching some absolutely awe...

Here we are at May lst. That means that the Saskatchewan Novice show is done (April 4), and now we are gearing up for Saskatchewan Provincials in Saskatoon on June 13th.  It should be a rockin' contest if the Novice was any indication.  Then, there are always previously-qualified competitors that come back.  I will be judging, and hubby will be the evening Emcee.  We had a Fitness athlete at our Novice that did an amazing routine, like none of the judge's had ever seen before.  She is now working hard to bring something even more amazing to the stage at Provs...

guest I just has a questions for you...i know going to the gym is highly important for success...but what else can I take to kick start my weight loss?? I have heard of lipo 6 and that it works really well...also heard of isogenix and cyto-lean is really good?? any thoughts or any "magic pills" that you have tried or know people that have tried that work??? MsFitFern HIIT appears to be some high intensity training, sprints, alot of running around. I do that anyway when I have coffee in the gym.hehee. I love those shorts but they are so tight. Damn, how tiny are some of those guys. I couldnt wear them when I weighed 108! Doing any shows this year? Jul 6, 2007 7:56pm
