I can't say when I got started as much as how. I began in 2001, but my husband and I really celebrated much our new marriage and I got pregnant soon after our wedding. After her birth I began working out religiously and had some success, so much so that people were coming to me for advice. The only thing though was that my weight was cyclical, and I gained as much sometimes as I lost. However in 2006, right after the birth of my son I was determined this was the last time I was going to fight my weight. I knew what to eat, The holy grail(chicken, fish, turkey, egg whites, oatmeal, brown rice, yams and veggies, nothing ever processed, or fried.) Even knowing this and working out 2x a day, sometimes up to 7 days a week I couldn't get through what I considered "bathing suit ready". "I had never worn a bikini until the summer of this year and even then it was under my clothes." The real issue is that while I eat healthy and train vigorously 5 days a week I still eat what I want on the weekends. While this practice has kept me "sane" it has hendered me from achieving the overall look I have really wanted. So to be completely honest this page/blog will be all about how I overcome this obstacle to be the person I really want to be physically. Hey maybe overall.
Why I Love It:
I love working out because I love the feeling of what happens when I walk in a room.
I know compared to the bodies on this forum and like Melissa Hall, Monica Brant, Val, and even my best friend (Hi, Erica!) I have a way to go but honestly, I am proud of myself and am constantly thrilled at what a healthy lifestyle makes one look like.
How I Stay Motivated:
I wasn't very active as a child. In GA we have this thing called field day where the students all do like a jr. olympics, well I lost my first race and just assumed why run when there are cars, and if there are no cars, why be all funky and out of breath when you get there, just walk( leave ahead of time).
However, one year my husband got me a trainer (be careful men, my husband knows me really well and this was a great gift for me)and he was like okay you'll have to run, even if it is like minutes at a time. (Thanks Profail!) I am still not Jackee or Florence Joyner, but I find that running not only clears your mind but my body really started to transform itself once i did it. I know, I know there is no sad story here. People usually want to champion adversity, but my story is pretty simple, I figured out early enough that I am the way that I am because of not what happens to me but because of the decisions I make. I can no longer pretend that there is some unknown force working against me, I am the force, I control what I become!)
BB Accomplishments:
1. Self-Admittance: I can do better and be better everyday, all by myself!
2. Being a size 2, even with a booty!
3. The look on people's face when I walk in a room.
4. Having the courage to put my profile up, I am seeing that the face is not the point in this forum.

All I know for sure is that I'll know it when I see it! I have tried to say at this weight or at this size but If you are still larger than you would like to be at a size 2 or 120lbs, you may have to just know it when you see it.

Okay so I recently discussed like a recent weight gain that had me really spinning, but what is crazy is that I have kicked it up intensely and of course have not lost any of the expected weight. The great part about this all though (yes there is a great part) is that I am not even really...
Absolutely! Running has really worked for me. I dropped my first 20 or so that way and then had a knee injury. But in the past few weeks I've picked it up and I'm on a runners high again. Seeing changes fast, especially the midsection. Take care. Keep in touch. :)
Before i came here i was boxing all the time and when i get out i am going to continue boxing and try to be the best i can be at that. Thanks for asking, what are your goals?
Currently i am in the PERSIAN GULF taking part in OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM but in JUNE i will get out of the NAVY and move to GA for good. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
Thanks! Nervous? Not really. I've been waiting to compete in this show (injury free) for over a year. Competing at '07 N.Ams and placing, despite my re-habbing status, was a confidence booster for me. NOW... I can compete injury-free on Ntl Stage. Can't Wait!!! *smile*
