I've been active all my life whether it be dancing or playing competitive sports. As a goal-oriented person, I've found that working out with competing in mind is a way for me to stay focused and disciplined in all aspects of my life.

WHY I LOVE IT:

There's no better feeling than sweating and panting through a hard workout and walking out the gym having completed it all.

My Workout Program

Cardio- 6x a week, 45 mins

Strength Training- 5x a week

Yoga- 1-2x a week

Depending on whether its a no, lo or med starchy carb day, I decide what to train. This is planned at the beginning of the week of course. Legs are trained obviously on a higher carb day. I try to limit lifting on no carb days and do only low/med intensity cardio.


Need to drop bodyfat fast and don't really need to build any more muscle only show more lines and definition through allover fat loss.

My Motivation Program

My dad was recently hospitalized for high blood pressure for the second time in two weeks. I speak to him on a daily basis to make sure that he is taking care of himself and monitoring his pressure, which isn't the easiest thing for him to do these days, given that he works in finance. My dad is 52, stands at 5'11 and weighs 180, mostly lean muscle. He rises religiously every morning to jog 2-3 miles, perform a number of pull-ups, push-ups and other upper body exercises with his barbells and weights. I reflect on how my parents, particularly my father, raised us to be healthy and productive adults, providing the right foods in our diets well before organic and whole-foods became the craze; encouraging us at our sporting events and supporting our active lifestyles. I also think of my mom, who introduced me to Jane Fonda at the age of eight; eliminated all processed and canned food during each of her eight, yes eight pregnancies; still dances along to Tina Turner videos as her daily cardio; and at the age of 53, is often mistaken for a woman 10-15 years her junior. These two wonderful people are my motivating factors in pursuing a healthy and fit lifestyle.

So January has come and will be gone by the end of today . I am one year older, as a result, and hopefully wiser ;-). If you’re like me right now, you may be looking at your tax returns and may be wondering how on earth do you earn that much a year, but can’t account for most of it? For those of you who have asked about my back/ my back workouts, I'll post a sample workout soon when I get the chance. To be honest, I do change my back workout every week, but my staples are pull-ups (assisted of course), close-grip pull-downs and rows of various sorts. I love training back, therefore I really push myself during these workouts. I like to skip rope between sets, experimenting with various footwork. Combine the lifting and the rope for a superior strength building and heart pumping session.

This morning commenced the first day of my prep....yup. I woke up, had my egg whites and oatmeal then headed out to the gym to hit back and abs (my favorite split) and jump-roping in between sets. Yes, it was a hell of a workout, but what a better way to start off 16 weeks of competition preparation? Hence, the theme song of my prep season-- Brooklyn Go Hard featuring Jay-Z and Santogold. luvspellcpl work had to take some time off from training due to injuries personal life, and a cold but hope fully i will be back on training schedule again next week. ate alot of food and drink during the holidays and now christmas is coming so i am really gonna try to pile it on. just hit me up sometime.
