I started lifting 1980's for better Marine physical fitness scores. My legs developed quick but took years to build upper body. Became AFAA certified 1990's & taught aerobics for a few years. Part of my job as a Marine was to help other Marines maintain proper weight/ physical standards. I learned early on that having a muscular build boosts metabolism to burn fat.
Military retirement, my case worker job and having three miscarriages left me flabby. I decided to quit my job & get back into shape before my 40th B-day. I changed the way I ate and slowly trained to avoid injuries. I use more ice on my knees these days but can still achieve great results.
Why I Love It:
I train because I love to eat! I'm fortunate to not work at the moment and am able to devote so much time for training.
Finally, my first BB comp was last November, NPC Texas State, and I took first in Women's LW Novice. I worked so hard with training, posing and diet but my legs just did not cut in comparison to my upper body. I almost quit so many times but my husband kept me going. He had a hard time...
