leydengs I've played sports since I was little so I love being active and then due to an illness I was in a wheelchair for about 2 weeks and it took me awhile to rebuild my strength so knowing that could happen again keeps me moving. Knowing how quickly life can change like that kind of motivated me to go after some goals. Plus I have a 3 and 4 year old to chase after so I can use all the energy I can get ha! How about you? amazon22 haha yeah I guess my school is considered smaller than others. I would have been better off going to another highschool with more opportunities but all has worked out pretty darn great so I can't complain! I'm still going to do well no matter what, I plan on it. amazon22 Honestly I coached myself the best I could and spent extra time on the soccer field and on the track. If I had a real coach years back I could easily have gotten a scholarship. But oh we'll I love the sports and still may have a chance if I choose to try and walk on! Aug 5, 2012 11:11am

amazon22 I guess I've been kind of a mixed distance person? I've played soccer since around age 5 and although it is a lot of running back and forth, it's a lot of sprinting too. I guess kind of like hiit interval training? Lol. Runs on the boardwalk sound awesomeeeee! I would so run on the beach if I lived next to one. I will one of these days! :) yeah at my school we lacked coaching in sports like track and soccer. We had a "coach" but they hardly did a thing. Aug 5, 2012 11:09am

amazon22 I ran some cross country in highschool also, I did pretty well for not training for real for it. The same goes for track. My school just had no coaching for any sport except basketball lol. I think what really taught me discipline in life was soccer. It's my first sport and I still love it even though I am not playing. It's a love I want to pass on to my kids and show them the fun in it! :) so you enjoy long distance a lot? Lately Iind of want to go on a long run!! Aug 4, 2012 12:57pm

amazon22 But about track, I have fallen in love with the sport the past 2 years! I wish I would have grown up in it, I think I would be really darn fast! Lol. I began running sprints (100, 200, 400) my senior year last year 2011., I had no clue about running form (it looked funny but got a bit better) but loved sprints so much once I started. I came in 1st in all 3 races at a big meet, I was proud. I def had potential but as I said, if I would have grown up doing it, that would have helped me. Jul 28, 2012 11:49am
