i used to be a power lifter and a 3-sport athlete in high school. i was always large, i finally lost weight via an eating disorder. then i became a volunteer firefighter and that turned into wanting a job as a career firefighter which made me want to bodybuild for the strength necessary for the job.
Why I Love It:
it's like brushing my teeth-if i dont workout it's hard to leave the house in the morning.
How I Stay Motivated:
I teach a group fitness boot camp at 5am. to some of the toughest chics i have ever met...they keep me going. So do love handles and Oxygen Magazine
BB Accomplishments:
Oregon Ironman 2nd Place Finish in Women;s Heavyweight

a little on the chunky side! I need help with shoulders!!! Any tips?
Gain muscle and to kick ass at the 2008 Oregon Ironman!
Goal (Long):
Make muscular gains in order to make the best career firefighter i can be as well as a model for health and fitness to my family and my peers. On the side, i would like to finish my personal training degree. And also compete in local bodybuilding contests.
ok, so I eat incredibly clean about 85-90% of the time and I'm frigging bloated out of my mind. I have really low sodium intake and Im not constipated. Why am I retaining all of this water? The only thing i can think of is the glutamine. does anyone get the bloat from glutamine/? someone...
I lift about 6 days a week, and usually take saturday's off to recover and work at the firehouse. Depending ony public needs and drill schedules, i can sometimes count firefighting operations as a cardio workout, but i don't depend on it, becuase it's random and spuratic movements/actions....
hey a few new progress pics. please check em out and let me know what you think. Hey Just posted A new blog of my full workout in detail check it out and let me know what you think, your body is amazing
Yeah I'm good. Glad to hear you found your nitche. I have played that senario out in my head many times and I just can't see how I could make it work. I would love to, but I have made decisions in my past that limit decisions that I can make now. Glad somebody is getting it done though. So DO IT FOR US!! (no pressure LOL)
I manage a dining hall on a 18,000 student campus. My unit serves about 2000 meals a day. I love what I do but not at this level. I want to manage in a corporate office. Not at the unit level. You gonna pursue the training?
If it's bloated because of food have some prune juice and milk of magnesia and coffee.. if it's because of water take some x-pel, if it's from gas take some phazyne... those are the three things that help the most... otherwise.. just eat more fiber..
Maybe your back is just one of the last parts to lean out. You really start dropping your weight from the outside in, Your torso/legs can be the last to hold the most water/fat.
You could just try to work your lower back a few times a week, see if that will help. I have actually started doin this, while resting from workin other body parts, I go grab some dumb bells and do some straight leg dead lifts with them. I've only been doin it for a couple weeks tho.
Hey Im' surviving. Things are pretty crappy right now. Tiff broke up with me on monday so I haven't really been doing to good. Just trying to focus on working out. Although I'm eatign tons of food and seem to be losing weight instead of gaining.... How's your training going?
