I started bodybuilding after getting a job delivering gym equipment in my home town, everyone in the shop was huge and goofed at me for my scrawny stature. In short, I had a point to prove.
Why I Love It:
It's a pure sport. You get 100% of what you put into it. I love being in the gym, the sense of comunity with other lifters. It's an art form with the goal of complete human perfection, and no matter how far you go, there is always more to want. It gives me a reason to pursue the clean lifestyle I love!
How I Stay Motivated:
Whenever I start to get a little overwhelmed and weary of the gym, I look back at old photos and see how hard I have worked and far I have come. It always gets me pumped up again.
BB Accomplishments:
Before I left for bootcamp I broke a huge personal goal: I broke 200lbs from an orriginal 147lb build. I was told I couldn't do it, and I succeeded. Since then, with my intro into Navy life I have dropped considerably again (157lb after basic training) and am starting from ground zero.
finally got some new pics up... the side by side's have got me pumped to do some more damage!
Goal (Long):
I am now past the 300hr w/o nicotine and can say that I am officially quit of all nicotine addiction. I am about to be off deployment and I am really looking forward to some outdoor cardio time. I hate the treadmill. Give me the free and open!!!!
Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
I would say the same, arnold (although mazzive) still appears natural to me. THat's why I like him. Other than that Ronnie Coleman and Jay cutler have that "holly-crap, is that humanly possible" kind of physic that you just can't ignore!I would say the same, arnold (although mazzive) still appears natural to me. How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
I try to keep it at a 12,10,8 pyramid while on the occasion, when there is a plateau I need to break through I will go really heavey on my "8" rep set and try for 4 clean reps then drop the weight to what I used on my 12 rep set and bust out 8 final reps...it's harder than you think!I try to keep it at a 12,10,8 pyramid while on the occasion, when there is a plateau I need to break through I will go really heavey on my "8" rep set and try for 4 clean reps then drop the weight to ...more

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
Depends, When I am alone in the gym it is less than a minute each time and about 1-3 minutes between different exercise (enough to set-up and grab a drink. But when I am with a partner it takes a little longer, We switch off so I wait just as long as it takes for him to complete his set!Depends, When I am alone in the gym it is less than a minute each time and about 1-3 minutes between different exercise (enough to set-up and grab a drink. Yesterday was a brutal back day. During my dead lift pyrimid I was attempting to break my 315lb record and wanted to go ahead and bust our 2x315 to see where I was at, and how much higher I wanted to go. Sure enough, about knee-level into my first rep the boat rocked, and all...
