I started bodybuilding after getting a job delivering gym equipment in my home town, everyone in the shop was huge and goofed at me for my scrawny stature. In short, I had a point to prove.
Why I Love It:
It's a pure sport. You get 100% of what you put into it. I love being in the gym, the sense of comunity with other lifters. It's an art form with the goal of complete human perfection, and no matter how far you go, there is always more to want. It gives me a reason to pursue the clean lifestyle I love!
How I Stay Motivated:
Whenever I start to get a little overwhelmed and weary of the gym, I look back at old photos and see how hard I have worked and far I have come. It always gets me pumped up again.
BB Accomplishments:
Before I left for bootcamp I broke a huge personal goal: I broke 200lbs from an orriginal 147lb build. I was told I couldn't do it, and I succeeded. Since then, with my intro into Navy life I have dropped considerably again (157lb after basic training) and am starting from ground zero.
I am at the 48hr mark into my cessation from nicotine... and this is where everything gets fun. My body starts the rejection process, moving out all that nasty **** it has been injesting. A sore throat and fever are already here, a few more days and it will be 100% better. I don't care about any of that though, the pride I feel right now trumps it all!!! 48hrs moving towards a a life-time!!!
Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
I would say the same, arnold (although mazzive) still appears natural to me. THat's why I like him. Other than that Ronnie Coleman and Jay cutler have that "holly-crap, is that humanly possible" kind of physic that you just can't ignore!I would say the same, arnold (although mazzive) still appears natural to me. How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
I try to keep it at a 12,10,8 pyramid while on the occasion, when there is a plateau I need to break through I will go really heavey on my "8" rep set and try for 4 clean reps then drop the weight to what I used on my 12 rep set and bust out 8 final reps...it's harder than you think!I try to keep it at a 12,10,8 pyramid while on the occasion, when there is a plateau I need to break through I will go really heavey on my "8" rep set and try for 4 clean reps then drop the weight to ...more

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
Depends, When I am alone in the gym it is less than a minute each time and about 1-3 minutes between different exercise (enough to set-up and grab a drink. But when I am with a partner it takes a little longer, We switch off so I wait just as long as it takes for him to complete his set!Depends, When I am alone in the gym it is less than a minute each time and about 1-3 minutes between different exercise (enough to set-up and grab a drink. I don't know why anyone being straightedge is such a big issue, I never have understood this point that people think they have to prove. "StraightEdge is for people that don't have their sh!t together", etc. What about those people that really just don't like the effects of it, don't...
