When I Started:
1995
How I Started:
I got into weights/working out when I started High School. As a cheerleader, we had to workout with weights - and my gym teacher showed me the importance of weights. He encouraged me to enter a state weight lifting competition - and I placed second. I was 5'2 and 114 lbs and won for squats and bench. From then on I was hooked! I went on to at Kansas State and we had aggressive workouts - weights and practice about 5 hours a day. Now 4 years our of college - and a newlywed -I am up to 126 and feeling soft and puffy! Too much fun on the weekends and sitting at my computer for work!! I want nothing more than to get my old figure back and be more attentive to my diet!!
Why I Love It:
Nothing makes me feel better than a killer workout. I think it's the best way to relax, feel great, spend time with my husband and feel confident. It's a great way to make friends....and it's incredibly interesting the way the body changes with slight tweaks to diet and workouts. Love it!!!
How I Stay Motivated:
Upcoming events, fitting/looking good in my jeans, to know how great I feel and the great mood I'll be in. I love the challenge - keeps me motivated. When my husband notices the changes and says a comment - I love that feeling!!! And love when friends want to workout with me or ask for tips.
BB Accomplishments:
Second place in state bodybuilding competition (okay, that was 8 years ago...I need to move on). Cheering in college and keeping constant fitness body. Just recently hired a trainer and finally deciding to lift heavier again.

Well, I will have to admit that I have slacked these past two weeks - workouts have definitely lacked this past week. I did legs last monday with Susan and she had me lifting SUPER heavy and I was sore until Friday. I went running Tuesday morning, but didn't work out again really...
