When I Started:
Aug, 2002
How I Started:
I was a lot more active before I got my desk job. Poor eating and drinking habits , combined with being a desk jockey got me real fat. So I decided to do something about it. Its now turned into more than just "getting into shape".
Why I Love It:
It gives me more energy, focus, and the strength to enjoy the sports I love to do more than before. In general I just feel better. While I'm working out. I love pushing out a set. Some people ask me If I think its boring. They must not know what a good feeling the pump can be.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look at the health problems that haunt many of my family members and some of them can be avoided through a healthier lifestyle. I don't like doctors, and I would rather not have to go see any for health problems that I can fix on my own.
A few guys at the gym are trying to talk me into getting myself to a competition level of fitness. I'm not sure yet if I could actually get up on stage and compete. We will see. I want to be fit though. I want to look good and feel good. I enjoy outdoor activities and many of these sports are much easier to do when you are more fit. I don't want to have the high blood pressure, diabetes, and bad back problems that run in my family. I really would like to be around 175lbs. That seems so crazy to say as I am in the mid 190's now. For now I am going to shoot for the 185 mark. I have a real good start on muscle mass. I just need to lower my fat %.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 10 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
9%

So with the new job and college I wasn't making it to the gym. I finally went today and hope to tomorrow as well. I like this gym. There's a lot more equipment then my old gym and there are these cool touch sensitve bar racks for the barbells. I never even knew those existed until...
Hmm never had their wings. I liked BBQ wings from Imperial or hot wings from Sals in Depew. See you like to snowmobile... my arctic cat is in need of repair. Hoping to get it fixed soon with all this snow we are supposed to get!
Im not vegan...yet. It would be ideal for me but too restrictive for now, im working up to it. Being vegetarian sure does help with the weight loss, theres a lot of junk food I just cant eat anymore. Especially helps after a night of drinking when all I want is a chicken finger sub! Who do you think has the best wings?
Hey DStump, remember muscle is more dense than fat. As you gain strength and get stronger, as u will, u may be surprised that the "bottom line" showed by the scale doesn't decrease much, if any at all. If so, don't get discouraged...'cause you'd have probably lost fat...just what u wanted. Best Wishes! ~Dawn Melanie
