You just gotta dismiss the stigma about carbs and other common misconceptions. If you eat relatively clean I've found you can ignore portion sizes. Most people will give you average advice on nutrition and training. A zero-fail-gotta-have-it-all mindset is the way to go. You can build lean muscle and burn fat at the same time.
Good luck with your overall goal. Leaning out seems like an obvious focus but I believe shape is more important than size. If you build enough quality muscle it doesn't matter what the scale says. You have a good genetic shape. I promise, a pound of muscle gained will improve your physique more than a pound of fat lost. That philosophy won't fail you.
Didn't do to much this summer. Went to a concert, visited family and a house warming party. I've been training since Jan. for my BB comp. so I've had some restrictions.
