"My goal is to try my hardest to get my body back to the way it was when I ran track in college."
Personal Info And Background:

Tom
Sex:
Male
Age:
31

Personal Website:
Gym:
Bally's
Gym Location:
NYC
When I Started:
Aug, 2007
How I Started:
I ran track practically my whole life, and to be honest never really had to worry about my weight. I was always pretty ripped, due to the fact that I ran 6 days a week.
After college, there came the time when it came to a crashing end. After sitting around for about 8 years I realized that I gained a new friend....Mr Pop Belly. I had grown from around 186 to 228 Lbs.
My true inspiration, was seeing my wife (gym_funaddict), also a track runner who unlike me never stopped running, begin hitting the gym and getting ripped up. Meanwhile my stomach was growing fond of apple pie and steak.
So...she finally dragged me in to the gym on August 20th 2007 and as the weight drastically dropped, I became addicted.
Why I Love It:
It feels great to be able to get back in to shape, and most importantly get fit. I would love to get back to my size in college.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by seeing the drastic change my body is making and the number of pounds I'm shedding.
BB Accomplishments:
Losing my stomach, but I still have a long way to go.

OK...so I dug up a photo taken from last year that shows the stomach rolling over my shorts...DAYUM. Shots like this keep me in the gym.
So, I have to admit, after working out now for 5 months since running track in college (9 years ago), I truly thought I was in pretty decent shape. Enough shape to definitely try out for this show, which I found out about a little over a week ago. Seems that it was definitely tougher then...
I started working out on August 20th, 2007. So as of today I've been working out for 8 weeks. I started the first 5 weeks doing 30 minutes on the treadmill and 30 minutes on the elliptical machine.
Thanx bro-ppreciate it! Been trying to get sick (or NOT trying to I should say)so it's thrown me off last week-but hopefully tomorrow I'll be back on track.
Eh dawg you are an inspiration to all us former athletes who let ourselves go a little too long. I can only hope I have the progress you did at the same amount of time. Keep lifting.
Tom, incredible progress the weight line show. Starting this week I will be back into my basic running (below 75% HR capacity) that is where I always get in line, before start cycling carbs for energy, and that is where my gut grows.
That is awesome you and your wife workout together. I can see she is whipping your body into shape. Good for her. Good woman...Good luck on your goals.
You are doing phenomenally well! Look at all that muscle, the v-taper that was slightly hidden before. Wow. I mean you were healthy and all at 228 but you look great now, too.
