When I Started:
Sep, 2002
How I Started:
When I got to college (James Madison University), I noticed that they had a great Army ROTC program. Military involvement appealed to me, so I took it upon myself to apply. I wasn't in the greatest shape, just on the skinny side (6'2", 180lbs.). This was an improvement, however, as I had been overweight all throughout my teens (265lbs. at my max).
It was only during my senior highschool year (2001) that I started dieting (low-carbing) so I could basically look better. Unfortunately, the "look better" complex is what drove me through my first few years in college, but hey, I learned a lot about nutrition and overall health while applying the bodybuilding lifestyle.
I am now more active than ever, working from a regimen that I developed for myself that consists of weights, cardio, and combat athletics. If I need a day down, I take it, but I prefer to push my system.
Why I Love It:
It sets me apart from my former self and the rest of my generation. In college, with the "party-hardy" mentality packing pounds onto my peers, I enjoy sitting on the sidelines watching the standards drop as I "maintain" my way to the top. Yes, it's dismal... This is the world we live in.
How I Stay Motivated:
I was originally motivated by vanity. I think that's how a lot of guys start: By trying to attract girls. I've moved on. Now I'm motivated by performance, endorphinal stimulus, and the ability to kick some serious ass.
BB Accomplishments:
Losing 80 pounds between senior year Highschool and Freshman year college.

To build strength and power. I want to be an animal.
Goal (Long):
I've been increasing my training frequency steadily for the past year. My performance has generally improved across the board.
I want to continue to reduce my BF%. This has been a goal for many years.
Overall Power: Basic heavy movements and high intensity cardio.
Flexibility: As a jiu-jutsu enthusiast, I believe you can never be too flexible. Stretching periodically throughout the day and hard before bed.
PT Test: Being in the Army, my current fitness test scores are: Pushups-60, Situps-80+(max), 2mile run-13:50. --I want to smoke this next time.

I got up today, went about the day, and after looking in a few mirrors thought, “Damn it I need to grow. I should be much larger!” Seriously, my image is that of a muscular person, but I’m not all that muscular. Would I even say I had...
Day 1: Chest/triceps
Day 2: Back/Biceps
Day 3: Rest
Day 4: Shoulders/deads/cleans
Day 5: Rest
Day 6: Repeat
Cardio is about every other day, and given that my knees have taken some damage from lots of pounding the pavement, I'm using more machines (yeah, my estrogen...
tell me about it bro. As much as i try to forget about my damn joints and f'd up body, it always seems to want to remind me. Guess you just gotta cooperate with it, and hopefully it lets you do what you wanna do. If not, just do it anyways :) haha OH boy i cant even think about jiu-jutsu right now...not with these joints of mine. Take care of yourself man
Yea dude this site rocks. I should be studying for a huge test tomorrow but I'm just here reading about supplements. Darn you and your addictive habits that I have caught on to.... =P
