I honestly don't remember, but I do remember doing curls and overhead press with an e z curl bar in my basement in like 6th grade.
Why I Love It:
It is a never ending war against the weights. If I can finally lift this much today, the next time there will be another heavier weight to battle.
How I Stay Motivated:
It's just what I want.
BB Accomplishments:
I have had both of my arms operated on a total of three times for a broken arm and also for ulnar nerve problems. They moved the nerve under to the front of the elbow so it doesn't get pinched. Well, it still gets pinched. The recovery sucked and it still hurts but I can't let it stop me from achieving my goals.
This is about a month after I started a heavy program, and I don't see much results, maybe I should switch it up.
I honestly just learned how to spread my lats. I looked it up online. Anyway it looks like I don't have a symmetrical area or my body, including my hat.
I recently went from 15.5 inch arms to almost 16, so I'm on my way, but I want to get to 17. I may be at a sticking point with that as well as my weight. I'm going to try to bulk for a while, which is the only thing I have ever done. I'm hoping that once my weight jumps up, my arms will follow. I have to learn to be patient and just concentrate on increasing the weights from workout to workout.
I think I need to make a decision here. My original plan was to bulk until the beggining of April, and then start cutting so I could get abs for beach and pool season, because I want a lady.
My other option, and better for bodybuilding I think, is to bulk through the summer and...
I just thought I'd drop a line to see if you are still out there and if things are going well with your workouts and in general. Let me know when you get a chance!
Thought I should stop by and see how you're doing. Training going well? How are you doing on your goals? Things are picking up for me and I'm making some new gains which I'm excited about!
Motivation might be slipping a little, but it's still pretty high - the thought of pictures makes me a little queasy right now though, gotta shed the winter "blubber" first!
I saw the new stats - some good progress there, especially the lower bodyfat without losing size in most areas and your strength on the bicep curl sure has increased. Keep up the great work!
Oh, and I'm doing pretty good. Started a new routine this week - we'll see how it goes. It's higher reps and lower weight than I'm used to but I'm trying hard to burn off the blubber before T-shirt season gets hear officially!
Tricep supports? What are they called, I don't think I've heard of that type of device. And even though you "cheated" and measured pumped I doubt you pumped up a full inch - less than a half inch is more likely in my experience - so your arms are probably bigger than you think cold! Great job. And yes, CP is one of my favorite parks - I'm quite the roller coaster fiend when I'm off-line.
I tried rock climbing once - but didn't pursue it and now I doubt I could get my "bulk" up a gentle hill let alone a cliffside (lol). But it is a great work out isn't it? Still maintaining on my end. A little over a week to go before my play is over and I can hit the gym hard again!
The play is coming along very well - plus a play I wrote (and am directing) will be premiering at our state theatre festival in about two weeks. All the activity is cutting into my gym time, but I'm still maintaining now and not losing any strength or size at least.
I see you've adjusted your goal - 200 with abs will be pretty impressive! I'm sure that will attract the attention of more than one lady this summer at the beach (and off the beach, too), along with the biceps, the triceps, the pecs, etc. etc. - stay focused and you'll get there in plenty of time for beach season!
Not too bad - I've been real busy so I'm pretty much in a maintenance phase myself for the next few weeks. So, if I don't go backwards I'll consider it a victory. Good luck keeping the mass on - it does sound like your metabolism is pretty fast, which I guess I would expect given your age and good physical conditioning. A week of rest should do you good and prime you for greater growth when you start back up!
You too - keep pumping hard just might become my new catch phrase! I thought that his blog hit on a lot of truths and was fun as well. So I answered in the spirit it was written. How'd your training go this week btw?
That's an excellent weight gain in just over a month (presuming it's all solid weight). I'm heading towards 215 as well, but from the other side. Maybe we'll reach the same weight at about the same time! My trick will be maintaining/gaining the size in my arms and chest while losing on the waist and hips.
