When I Started:
Jun, 1988
How I Started:
I was a tomboy growing up, I spent more time playing sports than I did playing with dolls. I started lifting weights while on my high school swim team but I didn't start training seriously until I was in college.
Why I Love It:
I love spending time at the gym, it's my time to focus on me and nobody else- I'm more relaxed after a good workout. I enjoy the thrill of lifting heavy, it makes me feel strong and powerful and a bit unstoppable!
How I Stay Motivated:
I continually challenge myself to get better with each workout. Nothing motivates me more than the high I get from being able to effortlessly lift a weight I use to struggle with.
BB Accomplishments:
Fewer immovable objects

I don't want to be a model, I just want to be able to bench one.
I was very athletic when I was younger, I was always playing sports, cheerleading, or working out. I started lifting seriously in college and got lean and hard and really quite strong. I was voted a M&F college hardbody and I won my division at a local bodybuilding competition! But after college, I got married and I gave everything up because my ex didn't like that I spent so much time at the gym and, well, we all do stupid things when we're in love. Well, 8+ years later, those dark days are over and I'm back doing what I love to do- no MAN will ever mess with my head and stop me from working out ever again! My goal is to build a sexy strong body and keep it for the rest of my life- I will be the woman of steel!
I workout pretty much every day. I like to run in the hills every morning, mixing in sprints with cross country running. In inclement weather, I will run on my treadmill or the stairmaster at the gym for 30 minutes to an hour. I lift weights up to 5 days a week, mostly focusing on lifting...
Thanks for the congrats! It's been one setback after another this autumn, but w/ a new job, awesome inspiration from everyone here on bodyspace; and of course the Lord on my side you'll see; I will come back better even better than ever before...and then you will have to give me a cartoon superhero nickname of my own ;)
I stopped by to say that you look absolutely fantastic! I want to compliment you on your dedication, determination and achievement. You are a fantastic example of what can be done when someone decides to get it done and a great inspiration to so many others. Stay strong, focused and determined.
Hey Blondie! Nice pic! Looking great all the way around. Nope, no partying this weekend. Everyone else left so I'm gonna be a good boy. How about you, whatta u to this weekend? Blond, red or brunette this time?
Ooh.. gotcha. Well, I try some seated, lying stretching for my lower back and it seems to relieve some stiffness. I do a lot of hyper extentions and 'superman' to strengthen my lower back area. Any other suggestions?
I haven't done yoga. I normally do HIIT on weight days and if I get opportunities, I'll do conventional cardio on my 'off' days. Cardio is my biggest weakness.
Yeah, I wish I got that kind of attention. If you think I would, apparently the resolution on the pics isn't that great or your screen needs work, I don't get a lot of attention. So do be able to dance I have to take someone. Took a chick I picked up a at a street dance I couple of decades ago. She likes to dance and apparently isn't too particular about the quality of my dancing so it's all good!
Thanks- Actually went out and did a a few hours of dancing at a club that has two dance floors- one for the new stuff and one for the old stuff. It's almost like cardio- two hours of non stop dancing- but I paid for it this am since I got in at 2 am. How about you? Are you ready for a new week?
