I used to watch pro wrestling, and I admired the heroic physiques. I was also jealous of A.C. Slater's size in Saved By The Bell haha. Then, in middle school, I first saw some of my peers and friends starting to really change or mature their physiques, and this was the first realization that your body could truly change and that you weren't stuck with what you have. From there, it was a gradual climb from my first 40lb dumbbell set to spending hundreds of hours in the gym under thousands of pounds of iron. (and slaving over a hot stove!)
Why I Love It:
You improve your health, athleticism, appearance, spirituality and mental strength/discipline, and you retard the aging process. What's not to love?
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing imperfections and people with more aesthetic physiques. On a smaller scale, I may watch bodybuilding videos or Pumping Iron, read some training articles/books to consider new techniques, seek guidance from a more experienced fitness enthusiast/physique competitor, or just try to relax and remember why I've come this far to begin with.
BB Accomplishments:
Helping my 5'8" 273lb obese friend get into this lifestyle and drop nearly 100lbs.
OCB Charm City Classic 2008
Bodybuilding 101 5th
Juniors 2nd
Novice Lightweight 3rd

Look at those tri's! You have to be blind to not be inspired by this dryness! Once you have an image of what you want in your own endeavors (in this case, leanness and dryness), it becomes that much easier to work for it because it's tangible, as opposed to thinking, "I'll get as lean as I think I can," which is destined to be a half-assed journey.
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
I hurt my back on a leg press with a poor design. I couldn't do any heavy lower body movements for nearly half a year. After making it worse, I nursed it quite a bit and let it heal over 4-5 months before bringing the big movements in again with very modest loads.I hurt my back on a leg press with a poor design. What is the most common reason that somebody gets injured while lifting?
I'd imagine it's either a result of ego overtaking sense or developing imbalances without fixing them before they cause a problem.

What is the most dangerous weightlifting exercise? Why?
I'd say the power snatch. Anything involving an overhead press is liable to do some damage. Deadlifts seem too easy to bail, and that would put squats right beneath the snatch.

Thanks Nick. I really appreciate that. You looking great as well. How is training? And when is next competition? You have trainer or workout partner helping you?
Awesome Nick!! Good to hear things are going good.. I been looking to doing some OCB shows... I got 3 already for next year, but i like doing natural shows so much more than NPC. I might do more natural in 2010. You plan on doing a show next year or you going to take the time off and grow?
