When I Started:
1984
How I Started:
I have been a active person since H.S. playing sports from basketball to Volleyball. I was in the U.S. Army for a few years and continue to challenge myself.
Why I Love It:
It just makes you feel good! Plus the added bonus of a good looking body doesn't hurt. When I miss a day, I feel bad and my energy level goes down.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look at myself and when that is not enough, I look to other blogs, people who are going through the same thing and feel I am not alone. I received my ACE Personal Trainer Certification this year and I am excited!
BB Accomplishments:
Completed my first bodybuilding competition. I won first and last place. In other words, I was the only female competitor. It's all good. The experience was great and am going to do another one after one year of training. I ran the USMC marathon in 2007. Certified ACE Personal Trainer Feb 2009

Short term-to complete 12 week clean eating challenge. Long term-To improve my overall body and live healthier. To show my daughters that women should be strong!
Goal (Long):
All my life, I have always been active. A mother of 3 and full time nurse, I have to manage my time between home, work and fitness. Sometimes it can be very hard especially after working a night shift. As I get older I have realize that thing need to change within myself and my lifestyle. I am currently living in Japan and there are so many opportunities here for change to be made. I plan to take advantage it. Hopefully my blog will help anyone else who inspire to change from within.
She embraced me immediately once I started my journey toward competing. She continues to check on me and shows that she truly cares and supports me. Maybe one day we will meet. Hopefully not on stage cause she would kick my butt! Christine has a friend in Okinawa. Plus she looks great!
What is the real difference? I am here in Okinawa Japan getting ready to compete in my first bodybuilding competition and found out that I am the only female signed up. We have had two other competitions in June and July that featured both bodybuilding and fitness. The one at Kadena AFB...
I didn't want to forget to wish you the best for your competition!!! Tying up loose ends before having to hit the road to Austin so I thought I would send this off now. You know I'll be thinking of you on the day of our show!! Take pics!
Hey Hawaii!! I'm from Honolulu and there are two main shows every year, Paradise cup and another one. We're planning a trip next Nov, wouldn't it be nice if we got to meet in Hawaii???
You have time for the jet fuel. You really do not want to take the stronger stuff this far out from the show otherwise your body will get used to it being in your system. I usually take the stronger stuff at least 3-4 weeks out depending on how I look. Take care and train hard!
Hey emtatum, thank you for your words of encouragement! I have to work today. Do you get a day off since it's Memorial Day? Thank you for serving our country!
I love your overall goal, especially the one about showing your daughters women SHOULD be strong! I have daughter and she's the light in my world (next to my husband!)
