Hi everyone, im a new here and heres my story. (Its a little long)
Im 27 and have always wanted to have a nice fit body. Im a big body building/fitness fan but have always been fat. Im 5.8 and was 216 pounds. No defenition anywhere, no lines showing anywhere and obviously alot of belly fat. I work 6 days a week approx 10-12h/day so when it comes to nutrition, it has to be fast and easy. McDonalds/Burger king and any other fast food resturant was a 4-5 day a week thing for me. Chocolate bars, soda, candy etc...all that during the day without even thinking twice. I obviously didnt like the way i looked, i wore a size 36 pants and never took my shirt off in public. I didnt like going to public water parks or anything like that.
November 2nd 2007 i woke up and decided to change my eating, i didnt know what to do, where to start, didnt know anything about calorie intake but i was very determined to just eat "healthy" and low fat foods.
So i started making my lunch for work the night before, lots of turkey sandwiches, tuna in water, 3 bananas, 3 apples etc. This was my lunch for about 60 days. I lifted 6 days/week and took one day off.
I lost 20 pounds and my close all became bigger. I really liked the progress so i did more research on nutrition and weight lifting. I now pretty much know how much calories nearly anything has without looking it up. After 60 days i learned that 3500 calories=1 pound of body fat so, i searched online and found out that my body loses approx 2100-2300 calories/day just by doing what i do (not counting my weight lifting). I started to write down everything i eat and i have kept my calorie intake to 1500-1600/day. I have been at a 4900 calorie defecit per 7 days for the past 7 months and it has helped.
For a guy that ate chocolate, loved a big mac with XL fries and a XL coke(lets not forget pizza friday) these past 7 months have been very very VERY hard. However i am now 150 pounds, with a big chest, size 29-30 pants, definition between my chest, big bicep/tricep with cuts showing on my shoulders when i flex. Veins going from my chest down my arm to my hand. I have never had veins showing before but now during workout, i have about 6 of them on each arm. And best of all, my two top abdominal muscles are showing very good, the ones below are showing but not as much and the 3rd row not showing yet.
My wife still gets the pizza/movies friday ritual, for the past 7 months she has ordered approx 28 pizzas since my diet started and everytime it gets here, i pick up a nice thick slice, cheese just dripping, peparoni just hot and juicy and i take a nice smell of the slice, put it back and tell her to enjoy it. I turn around and make myself a turkey sandwich.
I still have a way to go to get the body i want. But im very happy with the current results.
