Starting in January of 2008 is more of a restart. I've worked out since about 8th grade back in school. My prime was in about 1999. I cheered in college and got down to about 10%bodyfat and about 190lbs. I married my lovely wife in 1998 and we worked out religeously. I got down to about 8%bodyfat and about the same weight. Graduating from college, having a baby and "other" factors contributed to my downfall in about 2002. I haven't recovered since then. I worked for 24 for a while and got my folks a real nice deal on lifetime memberships. Well I decided the parttime job and my fulltime job left me too little family time. So I let 24 go and blew up like a balloon. My folks saw my pain and they decided to help us out. My mom helped me see the urgency of getting fit again just as I had done for them a few months prior. Well that brings us to the present. My wife and I are both hitting the gym hard with our two beautiful kids in tow. They hang out at the kids club while she and I lift.
Why I Love It:
The relationship that Stephanie and I have has had it's better days. Ten years of marriage have been up and down, with remarkable ups as well as terrifying downs. Being in the gym is like being in our own little bubble. We tune out all of our daily "crap" and just bond.
How I Stay Motivated:
We have trouble staying motivated to eat right. Having kids and all the other responsabilities limits our "focus" but we hang in there. We try to read articles that promote good health and give eachother little tokens of appreciation and love; especially on our "fat days." I know it sounds cheezy;) But it works for us...

i cant wait to have my morning workout again. i plan to do my 530...
new gym is great, (when I go!) you look great, you should raise your weight goal and keep your bodyfat goal. you can bulk healthy and lose fat. you are proof.
ha ha thanks for the sweet post :) Good luck w/ your goals- you should encourage your wife to do it w/ you- be something you two can share :) Have a great one!
If you are really serious about losing weight and getting into great shape I believe it is best to follow a proven program otherwise you may end up wasting your time & energy. I was able to lose over 50 lb’s going from 36% to 10% bodyfat and my wife (bodyspace: judimax) went from a size 12/14 to a 4/6 in only 12 weeks by following the Body for Life program. Challenge yourself and you may be amazed at the results and how fast they happen
