My health was getting pretty bad, I was at 195 lbs. of nothing with high cholesterol and triglycerides. My doc told me to start cardio for 40 minutes per day with a heart rate of 120+. Well, once I got my mind right, I just can't do that and it has exploded from there.
Why I Love It:
The feeling of well-being, making physical changes and power of lifting.
How I Stay Motivated:
My family, I need to stay healthy and strong for them and be there for them as long as I can and as healthy as I can. You see, my father died when I was 16 because he didn't pay any attention to his health. I lost a large part of my life, and I will NOT do that to my children if I can help it.
BB Accomplishments:
Losing all the bad weight and getting my body turned around. Basically going from 195 of nothing to 190 of muscle, 10.5% BF, and reducing all my bad numbers to the point of my doc ensuring me I will not need any meds.

If you must fight... fight for love...
LOVE of family (spouse, sons, daughters)... LOVE of country... LOVE of freedom...
Don't let the enemy take anything from you, but take everything from them...
Cause in the end... one will fight harder and stronger for love than anything else in the world.

Here is the before, with the spare tire and not much of a frame.
What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
For me the key was "getting in shape" first. I worked cardio for 40 minutes per day for 6 days. I mostly used the cross-trainer / elliptical machines which also helped me gain strength as well as lose weight. Again, for me, after 6 months of that I started working on lifting and now I am 30 minutes cardio and 30 minutes lifting 6 days a week. For me the key was "getting in shape" first. What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
Have to say going to heavy on the weights. I should have taken a day and found my "sweet" spot for weight and reps. I remember hitting my legs for the first time and going to heavy on the squats. Let's just say I didn't train my legs again for 2 weeks.Have to say going to heavy on the weights. I should have taken a day and found my "sweet" spot for weight and reps. So I started the new workout, which increases my sets by 1 and reps from 5 max to 12 max. Each set is to be done to failure. OMG... did it kick my butt, but I did complete it. I have a lot of work to do with this program. Course the goal of it is to increase my muscle size and then it will be...
