I did a bit of weight lifting in high school, then started Nautilus while in grad school. Stopped for a few years, but started up again a year and a half ago. Now I mostly do a Cybex circuit at the gym with a cable machine.
Why I Love It:
Clears my head and keeps the body in shape.

Not really interested in competing. Just working on keeping a healthy (and healthy looking) body.
Winter, 60 minutes on the elliptical on just cardio days, 10-30 minutes on weight lifting days.
Summer, biking whenever I can, with a few extra elliptical runs thrown in.

Do you monitor your heart rate while doing cardio?
Yes
Do you use a heart rate monitor? Which one?
Generally I just check my heart rate occationally on the elliptical machine.
What heart rate do you aim for while doing cardio? Why?
It's usually in the 140s, occationally low 150s. I don't really aim at anything specific.
Took two weeks off since I was finishing up the school year. Started back with a trip on the bike, a light workout, and some stretches. Let's see how I feel tomorrow.

I use whey protien, multi-vitamin, and creatine as my suppliments. I've noticed big differneces with the protien and believe that the creatine definately helps reduce recovery time.
progess is going all right for now. dropped a bit of wieght and body fat %in a week. happy with that. i'm feeling more refreshed, happier and in controlled than i have been in weeks. it's doing wonders for my study. think you could help me in bout 3 wks from now to come up with a workout routine for me?
Thanks for the add and compliment. My only advice I stole from Flex magazine, and US soldier in Iraq - "Go to the gym regularly. Lift heavy things repeatedly. Don't eat the pound cake." No magic pills, just consistent plugging away.
