Background

HOW I STARTED:

I did a bit of weight lifting in high school, then started Nautilus while in grad school. Stopped for a few years, but started up again a year and a half ago. Now I mostly do a Cybex circuit at the gym with a cable machine.

WHY I LOVE IT:

Clears my head and keeps the body in shape.

My Workout Program

I generally do a full upper/mid body workout using the Cybex circuit at the Y (basically the same thing as nautilus), with a few extras on the cable machine thrown in, three times a week. I typically do one heavy-weight set on each machine, then do a second circuit, a bit lighter with two or three sets on each machine. Most days I do some sort of cardio (riding my bike to and from the gym on gym days, longer rides on non-gym days). See the workout tracker for more details.

My Motivation Program

My motivation definately fluxuates. When I'm on a good routine I want to go to the gym every day. If I get off routine I start coming up with excuses to do other stuff. Summer generally has me out of the gym, doing other stuff, but I still try to keep active (biking, hiking, whatever).
