How I Started:
I have always been the skinny geek during high school. When I got to U of I, my roommates started going to gym and I started tagging along. After that I was hooked.
Why I Love It:
I love the pump feeling. After a good lift, where the blood is pumping in the area, and everyday actions seem to make the area react. You get that good ache, even doing something simple like putting on pants is a struggle. Also, it gave me the opportunity to play football in a semi-pro league, which was amazing for someone who never played any organized sports ever. I went from geek to athlete.
How I Stay Motivated:
Learning new techniques from Bodybuilding.com, Muscle & Fitness or friends to work an area and achieve my lifting goals. Also, sharing that information with friends or someone starting out. It's interesting to see how many people in the gym just pick up a Muscle & Fitness and stick with that routine never changing it and are too nervous to ask. I always say, "There are no stupid questions, how else are you supposed to know unless you ask". I use that philosophy in and outside of the gym.

Goal (Long):
My goal is to run 1.5 miles without being winded. I've never been able to run a long distance, even when I played semi-pro football 2 years ago. I was mainly a lineman so I didn't have to run very far. In high school, I was not athletic at all. I was a geek, big time, but now I get paid to be one. I would like to have 10% bodyfat and actually have a muscular figure, instead of just being "BIG". Anyone can be "BIG", but with true dedication can the ultimate goal be reached.
Do you tell your friends and/or family about your fitness goals?
Yes
Why or why not?
Usually because they have the misconception that I'm in the gym all of the time. I have to let them know that it doesn't take a lot of time, just commitment.
My Ultimate Chest Blasting Workout. I started doing this workout because I got a case of tendinitis in my right wrist and performing flat bench press with heavy weights were painful. This workout didn't hurt my wrists as much, and I got a great workout.
I enroled in a 12 week fitness contest, so...building up more size on upper and tightening and sculpting the lower body the best I can till December :) Have a lot of work to do :P
