Have always been athletic and into sports. Had to be in good shape for the military. Being a small gal in the Corps I was determinded to haul my own weight and then some. When I got out of the Corps I slacked on the working out. In MArch of 07 I started going to the gym again, my body reacted pretty well so I'm going with it.
Why I Love It:
I love being strong. I'm a fairly small gal and love being able to do push-ups and pull-ups.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing the changes in my body and my strength.
BB Accomplishments:
so far...being able to do 14 pull-ups and 16 chin-ups and weighted pull ups. Now I'm working on benching my bw and then some.
Sweet! I made my goal on chins and pullups. So now I am adding some weight to them. Next barrier is the bench. I am darn close to a 1RM of the bw, but would like to add another 10-15#-
Ok, did that! :) Now, I need to break my freakin' plateau on pull-ups. Want to get to 15 wides. Also, I really need to step up the cardio and work on the diet. So my goal is get some more discipline!!!!!
so today we worked on squats and push press. This was good and bad. Good because I really need to work on my squats, bad because I hate sucking at anything. Granted I didn't do awful, but I am way below where I want to be/the rest of me is. We did the 3-3-3-3-3 format on back squats...
Your back looks great! Re: resistance bands, my gym uses blue & they help me w/pullups. I have no idea re %centage of body weight, etc. What type of exercises are you doing for back muscles?
Things are going very well for me, thanks! Workouts have been awesome, motivation high, and breaking some personal records (see my blog). And for variety, even did some wrestling today. We were very evenly matched and went for about 50 minutes. What a blast and what an awesome workout. Planning on doing it again next week.
Yep, I know what you mean. I think most of us struggle a bit with the cycle of leaning out/adding muscle. Checkout profile smallguyjoe - he has an article link in his blog that discusses a healthy balance between the two. But you're doing great, so don't sweat it too much.
It has been a while since I checked in with you. I hope things are well with you. Looks like you are still working hard. I don't know much about crossfit but it sounds cool. Keep doing those pull ups. Take care.
Well, I don't know much about any of this yet. At the urging of my fiance, I have purchased some protein powder and an appetite suppressant to help me get a jump start. I will be doing some moderate cardio and as much lifting as I can (without hurting myself, of course). My goal date for the weight loss is mid-Oct.
thanks so much!! i appreciate that!! back in my marathoning days, i would reward hard work with huge-cal meals, now i just buy a new bikini lol!hows your week?
Hey! Thanks a lot! You're looking great too. You're back is awesome. Huge shoulders too. Keep up the great work!!! How's the water going? You still having any problems with that?
Thanks for the add! I like your back too...
For biceps, I like doing stuff that really exaggerated the range of motion. Try seated bicep curls, but on the incline bench. You curl a bit more, and uphill too!
