What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
Every now and again, I tend to get lower back injuries. I am prone to them because I was born with scoliosis. When I train lower back heavy with movements like deadlifts, or when I train legs, I find it is useful to use the aid of a belt to help stabilize the area. When I do tweak it, with time and stretching, it eventually heals.Every now and again, I tend to get lower back injuries. I am prone to them because I was born with scoliosis. What is the most common reason that somebody gets injured while lifting?
Many training injuries are the result of trying to do too much to fast, or lifting more than you should, which often results in poor form. Newsflash! Impressing the guy next to you is not important! What is the most dangerous weightlifting exercise? Why?
Behind the neck pulls and presses wreak havoc on your rotators, and have absolutely no additional benefit over the movements to the front.
Well, we recently went on our babymoon to Key West with our friends the Cahills. It was a supplement company vacation! I'm a Prolab athlete, Danny works for Gaspari, and the Cahills own Driven Sports. We all had a great time.
A few days after returning home, we got to find out...
i'm still bulking. yesterday i freaked a little since i'm moving up a size in my pants. i know it's supposed to happen but it's totally new for me. usually this was a sign to cut back.
Thanks SO much for the advice on scoliosis.I seem to be spending more and more money on massages and the odd chiro these days.Eases it for a few days.May need to re-look at how I train.Take care!!
I came across your comments about the gym tax issue...
I'm in NJ, and I am in a state of perpetual disgust over the fact that gym memberships are taxed. The very same people who tell us that we're all "fat and obese and unhealthy," blah blah blah are the ones who tax anything that moves.
I'm glad to see people speaking out against this idiocy!
I was just curious, read you have scoliosis.I have had it since I was little and was wondering how it affects your training.I'm really battling with imbalances from it and heavy lifting.
