When I Started:
How I Started:
I started running in the 7th grade and ran all the way into college. After I joined the Army, I did Army physical training and continued to run. When I was deployed to Bosnia, I had no where to run, so I started lifting weights. I've lifted off and on ever since, and study all aspects of healthy living and training.
Why I Love It:
Weight lifting is cool because you can watch your muscles work. The body is an amazing thing, but we can't watch our heart beat, or lungs work...but you can watch your muscles cranking out the reps =D
How I Stay Motivated:
I'm 37 and have a 7 year old son. I want to be strong and healthy for years to come so I can keep up with him.
BB Accomplishments:
I would say currently being in the best shape I've ever been in...and there is still work to be done.

This was before I started working out, I had let myself get up to 196 pounds. I'm guessing I was around 20% bodyfat.
Last two weeks have been a mess for workouts, but should be back on track starting tomorrow!

I know fall/winter is around the corner, but my goal is to stay reasonably lean in the off season, and lean up a little more for the summer =) Working on cutting about five pounds right now.

Yes
What is it?
I have a strained acromioclavicular tendon (I'm pretty sure that's the phrase the doc used) = bad shoulder =)
How does fitness help you with your condition? What do you have to do differently in your program since you have this condition?

it's taking me 3 months of runs to condition my crazed dog/beast not to yank my arm right out of its rotary cuff every time a squirrel scampers in front of us. and he's learned to ignore other dogs who want to either shred his neck or smell his butt. it's all good. BTW is your greyhound rescued?

hey man, great horsehoe on the tri's! nice work. BTW-how's it going running your greyhound? i run my bluehealer/bearded collie about 4 or 5 miles a day. 3 or 4X a week. thinking he's getting better conditioned than me.
