How I Started:
I looked in the mirror one day and decided enough was enough. It was time to do something about my reflection. So I gave up fried food, grease, alchohol, and sugar(especially HFCS)cold turkey and never looked back.
Why I Love It:
The looks(especially from my WIFE),the questions("Hey man, you work out?")and being in better shape at age 45 than I ever thought about being at 25. Obviously there is nothing more euphoric than the adrenaline and the pump after a workout.
How I Stay Motivated:
The MIRROR! My wife and seeing the accomplishments of all the BB.com folk. Being the envy of many other people my age doesn't hurt either.
BB Accomplishments:
None really other than going from a flabby 186# to a buff 139# in 13 weeks. I've continued to add muscle size and drop body fat to this day at @170#.

By the pool - 139lbs FINALLY SOME LEGS!!!
Taken July 4th of 2002. Had only been lifting a few months and had dropped about 50lbs  TAKEN AFTER SHOULDERS. DID LEGS YESTERDAY & A LITTLE CARDIO TODAY. ACTUALLY LOOKING LIKE I HAVE SOME SIZE & DEFINITION! MAY SHAVE SOON.

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
30-45 seconds. Get it done & have a cardiovascular experience at the same time.

8-12 often more. Anything less in my opinion doesn't stimulate the muscle enough.

Have you ever had a lifting injury?
Yes
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
Rotator cuffs. One side then the other for about a year. Learned to lift smarter.

I am ANGRY that I had to lose a good BODYSPACE friend, encourager & mentor today! One of my best BODYSPACE buddies left the site today due to harrassment on the site which eventually led to stalking him, even at HIS GYM! I thought the purpose of this site was to SHOWCASE exceptional...

Happy 4th! I'm still on the diet and it's working! August 15th is coming up and I find it hard sometimes to stay motivated sometimes due to the lack of carbs and calories, but I'm still plugging away. I've been practicing posing and routine but I've got alot of work to do still. It's all in the mind and it has to be trained just like the body. Time to go train!
