When I Started:
Jun, 2009
How I Started:
Started Monday June 8th...Tired of looking at my past pictures and seeing how out of shape i look each morning in the mirror.
Why I Love It:
Great Stress reliever and i love seeing the changes in my physical being. When a day at work has been overtaxing or things dont seem to be going right...i pour it all in to my workouts and when i am done, i feel instantly better.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look at pictures of my past and see where i used to be fitness wise. Also the feeling after a workout and seeing results each week no matter how small.

Goal (Long):
Long list...I used to be in absolutely great shape. What happened...i got lazy and kept pushing off my workouts and now i am getting..well fat/overwieght. I want my 6 pack abs back and not the 6 pack of beer. I want my Lats wide again and back toned with seperation detailed. I want my mile time back down to 6min and not 9min. To me my idea weight is somewhere between 175-185, with bodyfat around 10%. I am currently 195 pounds at 20% bodyfat. In this next 12 weeks starting Monday, June 8th 2009. Me and my wife will be working towards our goals together.
I have always done 8-12 reps depending what i was looking to do. 8 reps when i was going for strength and size. 12 reps when i was trying to maintain size and work for more endurance.

Have you ever had a lifting injury?
Yes
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
pulled tendons of my left arm. I could extend or retract my arm beyond the 90 degree bend of my elbow. Recovering was just through time and not using my left arm as much, which made day to day task harder than i could imagine. It took my arm about 2 months to get back to normal and then another 3 i was still wary on pushing my luck with it.pulled tendons of my left arm. What is the most common reason that somebody gets injured while lifting?
Depends on situation really i think, but most of it i think is a mix of improper form and alittle showboating when one feels excited about the workouts. Focus is lost and the time to become injured is found.Depends on situation really i think, but most of it i think is a mix of improper form and alittle showboating when one feels excited about the workouts. Well its alittle more than a week since last post, but progress continues. I seem to have balanced around 185lbs. I have started running alittle bit more...going from 2 times a week to 3-4 times. Also this past week i finally decided that my dumb bells werent enough and needed something else. So...
Hi, thanks for the comment. I'm not doing programmed cardio, as in running a set number of days per week, but I am doing a lot of informal stuff. Cutting the grass manually (with a reel mower) takes 90 minuts to 2 hours about every 5-6 days. that low intensity cardio is good for burning fat, it turns out.
