How I Started:
My major in college was in Exercise and Sport Science. Learning the actual science of working out, and the required nutrition was the greatest motivation for me. Plus, I can control the way I look over time through personal hard work; it is kind of empowering.
Why I Love It:
I love to look good. I love to improve how I look even more. And it is such a rush when you lift more than you ever have before.
How I Stay Motivated:
I keep a healthy collection of magazines close by with all super fit girls. I also surround myself with other girls that have strengths where I have weaknesses. Not being on top helps me to push myself in the areas that I lack in.

Goal (Long):
Well, I honestly would love to compete. Everyone under the sun wants to be a model, but I would like to experience being a fitness model. If even for something local, or just once. I don't need the recognition, but it would be nice :) We'll see where fitness takes me in life. Writing would also be a direction that would fulfill me immensely. Writing is my second passion next to health and fitness. To combine the two would actually be ideal.

Fantastic post. It scares me to think that my daughter will someday feel that she has to go to extremes to look like those in magazines and take the unhealthy route to get to that point. I hope more people realize that athletic women are just that athletes and women, and I hope I can teach her that. Thanks for a great post.
