Overall Goal: My goal is to be the best man I can be (inside and out) to myself and others.
Fit Status:

When I Started:
2005
How I Started:
A vacation photo-- it didn't match the mental picture that I was carrying around of myself. Tired of being the big guy.
Why I Love It:
The focus, the challenge, the results.
Spending the day with the needs of 25 students, it is great to do something for MY mind and body. The sense of accomplishment after a great workout is amazing. Anything you do is "all good."
How I Stay Motivated:
Think of the alternatives. Others from the site. Building on successes.
dmac100is inspired by 5krunner. Reason: "Teacher by day...bodybuilder when he can. Jeff is a great inspiration to me when I come home from a day of teaching, tired and spent. He is ... "
My goal is to be the best man I can be (inside and out) to myself and others.
Goal (Long):
To have a better body and be in better health in my upcoming 50s than I was in my 20s. I want to be comfortable in the body I was given. I want to be bigger and leaner. I want huge arms and shoulders. I want a waist of less than 34. I want to be around 200 lbs with bodyfat under 15. I will own where I am (which is a lot better than where I have been) and not make excuses--it's not genetics, body type, time, stress, or injury. I will be focused in all my workouts and make sure I strive for more or something different each time. I will eat mindfully with a plan. I will meditate daily. I know that 2009 will be the year.
Thanks Doug, really appreciate the kind words of encouragemen and add. Definetly looking forward to summer and hitting the beach :) How's the training coming along. Cheers Piero
Thanks Doug!!! No time to gloat though, I am on a mission to get bigger AND leaner!! :) Come on along! We can both plan on being our healthiest on our 50th birthdays... whaddya say?:)
I keep one of those 20 oz plastic Solo cups with water in it all day. I fill it up at the drinking fountain between classes. Every year for Christmas, some kid gets me a fancy cup to drink from. Problem is, if I used it I would have to wash it. I just chuck the Solo cups at the end of the day. Makes it easy.
Yep...staying lean at 46 means my eating is almost 100% utilitarian. Being a teacher, you know how it is that every celebration at work seems to involve pizza or do-nuts ;)
