How I Started:
I've been involved in weight lifting for about 17 years now just by being involved in various sports. A friend of mine approached me about 2 years ago and convinced me to train for my first Figure competition.
Why I Love It:
I like the way my body looks when I'm lean, toned, and in shape.
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking at pictures of various pro figure competitors keeps me motivated to want to look like they do, as well as an internal drive to compete and have the best possible physique out there.
BB Accomplishments:
3rd Place in Figure B class at 2008 SC State Champs. 3rd Place in Figure B class at the 2008 Palmetto Cup. 5th Place in Figure at the 2007 Northern Colorado Bodybuilding Competition.

Goal (Long):
I plan on competing in at least 2 NPC figure competitions in 2008, and hope to place in the top three for my height category.
I have only competed in one competition so far, so I am still new to the whole bodybuilding scene. I am still trying to learn what diet supplements and training techniques work best for me.
What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
Mostly improper technique on different weightlifting exercises. The personal trainer I'm with now has corrected my technique on all exercises. Now I'm able to isolate each muscle and work them to their fullest capacity. What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
Have a long term goal in mind, but set a bunch of short term goals and take small steps to get there. The end result won't seem so impossible.
I've got six weeks to go till my first figure competition of the year. About a week ago, my trainer changed up my diet again. At this point I'm not allowed to have any fruit, peanut butter, dairy, wheat, and obviously sugar. My first 3 meals must contain starchy carbs and my last 3 meals...
