How I Started:
an old boyfriend used to show me how to lift weights when I was in my 20's. I always liked lifting weights. I decided to do it again after I had put on weight. I knew it would change my body for the better.
Why I Love It:
Body building gives me a feeling of empowerment and it makes me feel more confident.
How I Stay Motivated:
I read alot of the articles on the bodybuilding.com website.

I have been struggling with losing weight for the last three years. I was thin all my life but the long road of stress, anxiety and depression left me overweight and out of shape. In January of 2006 I began to change my eating habits and exercising and although I dropped about 14 lbs I was not able to successfully keep it off. I started to lift more weights in March of 2006 and I noticed an immediate improvement in my body composition; unfortunately I could not seem to get my body fat percentage to drop enough to see all the great muscle. I finally came to the conclusion that unless I made drastic improvements in my diet I would never reap the rewards of bodybuilding. I am happy to say that with the help of the nutrition articles on bodybuilding.com I have finally found the information I needed to lose the fat but keep the muscle. Because I am controlling my calories, macronutrient percentages and eating more...my body fat is decreasing! Even better - I am still able to keep my muscle! I am never hungry and I seem to be able to enjoy food more than ever before. It has changed my life forever to be in control of my body and my health. My goal is to reach 18% body fat by September of 2007. I will be able to wear a bathing suit proudly this summer and by next summer - look out!
