I've always been in this to some degree, I just want to take it to the next level.
Why I Love It:
It's fun!
How I Stay Motivated:
I want to be an old man who is still functional, seeing what happens as you get older, I want to do everything in my power to keep that from happening.
Depends on the time of year and my goals at the time.

Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
I'm not a student of these guys. Over the IFBB monsters seem too over the top for me. I think there's a lot of great physiques in the natural ranks but I couldn't name any names due to my ignorance.
Well, I've been at this since about May of 2007, and no doubt I've made progress but I never let BBing take over my life...I haven't really. I'm mean how many 30 something folks on here have 3 kids and a wife? I don't think I'll ever look like those guys on the top 6 but I've definately...
Things have been moving well. Got asked by the coach of the water polo team to help them with their core and strength training. The coach had seen me in the gym helping others and when I got introduced to him by a guy from church, he hit me up to come assist. Kinda cool. Glad to hear that things with the family are a priority. I am sure you'll find some way to get workouts going eventually. Good to hear from you.
Hey Dave! Things have been going really swell. Upping the poundages gradually in the workouts and I have got three guys I am training now. Piano Tech-ing pays the bills though. So how did the posing outfit look? Did the spouse roll her eyes?
Yes, you can drop 20 lbs in 11 weeks especially if you follow Derek's plan. The weight really starts to come off closer to the show when you start working on water depletion. I also have 20 lbs to loose before the show too so you can do it! -Jeff
Yes ... I do live in CA, but I can burn really easy. Way too much Irish in me. I thought the tanning booth could be something to try given the fact that you only have to be in there 5 minutes at a time. Might be a place to get a base at least.
Exposure it is. For me, the tanning part would be critical mass. My son says I am as white as sour cream! Hope to take care of that on some level this summer. Keep it going dude ... work still going well?
That’s great news, Dave! The NPC Natural Michigan is going to be a blast! I'm following the Scivation "Game Over" diet for my contest prep. This is the same plan I followed for the Novice Michigan comp. Here is the link to the free e-book you can download, www.cutdiet.com. I am starting with 2500 calories and dropping my calories by either 300 or 500 calories every two weeks until the comp. Let me know if you have any questions about it. -Jeff
As long as you get up early and have a bit of time before you start swing the DBs, you should be good. I have a cup of plain old Quaker Oats with the same amount of water and just nuke it - dash of cinnamon and some sweetener to taste. No problem with energy in the gym after a breakfast like that!
Just fix some oatmeal... that is what I have for breakfast before I head to the gym. Great slow burning carbs and in the cooler for after the workout is my yogurt gizmo - I have a YouTube vid up of that on my bodyspace page. I use low fat or non fat yogurt now and cheaper cereal, but it works! Get a cooler and live out of it I do it every day. You just have to do some prep and planning.
