I realized that I my body was not made to be "scrawny" no matter how hard I tried. But what I did learn was that I could put mass on quickly and was strong as an ox. I started competing in 1998 and love every minute of it.
Why I Love It:
As a mom and military wife, it is the best stress reliever, plus I love the pump. Getting bigger and getting stronger is an addiction for me.
How I Stay Motivated:
I put some of my old posing songs on my IPOD to remind of the changes I need to make for the next competition season. I also stay focused on my goals of finally winning an overall- no more second places.
BB Accomplishments:
I got on stage and took second in my height class (AAU)10 months after giving birth to my son.
Also, winning my weight class in the NPC 2003 Virginia Grand Prix.
Compete in the Los Angeles Bodybuilding Championships on July 21, 2007
Goal (Long):
I have spent the last year out of competition to increase size. I would like to increase my shoulders slightly and bring in my hamstrings before April.
After two years off, I'm ready to go! I have spent the last week trying to clean up my diet and testing the waters, so to speak. I have always compete when I was a housewife with all the time in the world to plan meals and train. This will be the first time competing as a full-time employee and...
I took 18 months off as well. My main focus was my legs and delts, just like you. I wish you luck in getting back into the swing of things. It took me a good 3 weeks to feel it again (the contest ready training and diet) Hang in there and you will be fine. Good luck!
