A co-worker gave me a copy of Body for Life in 1998. I went out and bought a free weight setup for a home gym and followed the recommendations to a T. Within 3 months, I gained 25 lbs. and was hooked on the iron!
Why I Love It:
Workouts are a great stress reliever for me. I also find a purity in the battle between my muscle & will and the weights.
How I Stay Motivated:
Helping others acheive their fitness goals.
Also seeing my changes in muscle size & definition over the years.
Over the next year, I plan to consistently be 220-225 pounds at 7-8% bodyfat.
I started training 9 years ago; my weight at the time was 120. I always had muscle strength but had trouble adding size.
A co-worker gave me a copy of Bill Phillips' Muscle Media and Body for Life. Following the training and nutrition in BFL, I gained 35 lbs. in the first three months. I was hooked!
As of last summer, I've been as heavy as 235 pounds at about 15 percent bodyfat.
In my mind, summer is basically done. That means it's time to add some mass. It just so happens that my karma is in order because I've selected to log Anabolic Innovations' Cycle Support and Post Cycle Support. What's in the middle, you ask? H-Drol, on the house from Anabolic...
Man, haven't heard from you in ages. How was the summer since you consider it over?
Ha ha, I still plan on making it down there one of these weekends. Whats your training schedule like anyway?
LOL..hey glad to hear you enjoyed your R&R down south! I'm sure those few days didn't have any negative impact on your progress. Are you all cut up for summer now? :)
Things are well; pretty much settled in. I like the NOVA/DC area very much. I do quite a bit of biking (lots of nice trails) which compliments my leg training. The bulking is going slow (too slow since I'm impatient by nature LOL), but I'm a few lbs. short of 200 now.
He he, you here too. Great. Man, whats your schedule like? I know one weekend I might get to journey to your neck of the woods and get a workout in with you. Put it up on the blog as a bodyspace state tour stop. He he, we can see how it goes from there.
All is well. My move is complete and this is my first week on the new job. I haven't joined a gym yet, but there's a Gold's about 2 minutes from my place. Hard to believe I've been out of the gym for almost 3 weeks! How's your training going?
Yeah lifting consistently can be tough sometimes, but it looks like you can afford to slack off a bit noe and again ;)
I'm starting my spring cutting a bit early because I need extra time this year..lol
