A co-worker gave me a copy of Body for Life in 1998. I went out and bought a free weight setup for a home gym and followed the recommendations to a T. Within 3 months, I gained 25 lbs. and was hooked on the iron!
Why I Love It:
Workouts are a great stress reliever for me. I also find a purity in the battle between my muscle & will and the weights.
How I Stay Motivated:
Helping others acheive their fitness goals.
Also seeing my changes in muscle size & definition over the years.
Over the next year, I plan to consistently be 210-215 pounds at 7-8% bodyfat.
I started training 9 years ago; my weight at the time was 120. I always had muscle strength but had trouble adding size.
A co-worker gave me a copy of Bill Phillips' Muscle Media and Body for Life. Following the training and nutrition in BFL, I gained 35 lbs. in the first three months. I was hooked!
As of summer 2007, I've been as heavy as 235 pounds at about 15 percent bodyfat.
This happens every bulk. Can I accept losing a little definition in the short term for picking up muscle? Will I have the discipline to keep up the higher calorie intake. Will I not lose my mind and go on an insane cut, sacrificing the quality gains of the bulk?
Dude, where have you been hiding? In the weight room I'm guessing but who knows. No tweets or nothing out of you in a minute. You still addicted to that dominatp/refresh stack or doing something completely different these days?
Ha ha, man, I should probably workout with you first before I do it. LMAO ... joking but it would make for a good state tour stop.
I've been working on a whole bunch of content though so there it is. My real blog (which there's a link to on my twitter) has some interesting stuff up there.
I am working with them. Show is on the 22nd of Aug so I am trying to rip what I have--scared to do to much cardio cause I don't want to loose what I have ....lol
thank you very much. Nice to hear from you. I am getting there & one day I plan to be on stage...DREAMS WILL COME TRUE! I really believe in that. How is training coming for you?
Dude, you make a good point. You should always do upper body before lower in a split like that because of course if you do it in reverse, you won't get the same energy you would otherwise.
Mr. Bench and Curl however doesn't know what this means. He just curls on Tuedays. Or does dumbbell work. ;-)
Yup, just trying to maintain and pack on as much size as I can by September. That will the point where I decide whether or not to do that contest thang...
