How I Stay Motivated:
I have children who call me the Hulk. as of 12.2.08, my wife gave birth to twins, thus growing my family to seven. My wife sees me has her strongman. So, I workout to keep the image alive. I've been powerlifting both competitively and as a way of lifting for years. I've been the 'working out on/off for years' type guy; so i have the size and I get compliments. However, I'm 30 now, and my wife just gave birth to our 4th and 5th children (twins). I want to build my endurance along with my strength and get down to a lean weight so that my children can still call be "The Hulk" and my wife can still call me "Superman" for years to come.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 30 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
10%

BIG KONCRETE is just a BEAST! I saw his spread in the November, 2008 M&F as I was in the midst of becoming a father for the 4th and 5th time and lagging in my fitness regimen. I saw in that spread not so much him as much as where I should have been at my point in life with 100% focus on my training- kids or not. He inspired me to regain my focus and be the hardcore lifter I'm supposed to be, for the benefit of myself and my family.

How has bodybuilding and fitness helped or hurt your relationship?
Fitness has enhanced my relationship with my wife in that she looks at me with admiration for my body; and, I can tell she appreciates that I keep up with my appearance. There's obvious benefits to our sex life- I understanding the ramifications of strong cardivascular health and the rewards of increased vasodilation. This having been said, I make sure that my wife is never in want of satisfaction.
Fitness never damages a relationship. When your mate indicates in one way or another that you should scale back your time inthe gym or with involvement in any other fitness endeavour, the underlying concept is that not enough time is being spent with that mate. I make sure never to neglect my wife; when she says that I need to workout less I know she means, "sit down and talk with me". I will therefore maneuver my schedule so as to focus on considering my wife's needs.Fitness has enhanced my relationship with my wife in that she looks at me with admiration for my body; and, I can tell she appreciates that I keep up with my appearance. When i was powerlifting with a team competitively between 2000 and 2002, My coach would have me dead lift using the modified sumo stance. I hated that position with a passion; but, it got the job done. It made no sense to me as to why he wanted me to lift with the position. Was it just because...
MY PLAN-
For the next 16 weeks, I will be focusing on dropping my body fat from 18% down to at least 10%. I will be health conscious when it comes to food, but not a stickler or calorie counter. My emphasis will be placed on the intensity of my cardio and resistance training with the...
oh ok. yea i think if you can get the conditioning you should definitely be good. from your pics i cal tell that you carry a lot of solid weight. so once you're able to tighten up you should be a beast for sure. but yea in the end its gonna come down to nutrition and diet... and LOTS of cardio.
Great to hear about your BPress! 415 for a single 8 weeks out is really good. Stay on your plan and make sure you peak at the right time. If you want, PM me your squat routine and I'll give you some feed back. Anyway, you're right about needing a team or partner to help on squat...it is mentally challenging to squat real heavy.
