A buddy in high school had biceps like baseballs. I started doing concentration curls while watching TV with some old weights of my dad's. After a month, I was beating my dad at arm wrestling. I put a cheap bench in my room and started working upper body and reading Muscle and Fitness whenever I could. Then, I noticed my lower body was going nowhere. I threw that in. One day I found a public gym where a guy was putting guys through routines four days per week. In months, I had gained lots of muscle and all of my friends were commenting on it. I've been hooked ever since.
Why I Love It:
I love the way my body looks and feels. I love the reaction I get on the rare occassions I take off my shirt or wear shorts. I love people approaching me at the gym for advice. I love knowing I can do whatever I want and not worry about whether my body is up to it.
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking in the mirror each morning. Knowing I can still get better.

Brief note for some of the guys: While I am very flattered by the attention, I am also very straight (at least I was last time I was in a relationship - It's been a while). I have to think it is those damn turquoise posing trunks causing some confusion. I thought matching my eyes was a good idea. Who knew? New trunks are on the way. Sorry about any confusion and good luck to you! :-)

I have promised myself for years that I would compete just once. I am in Baghdad for a year and have a gym handy. Seems like the end of this year is the right time to fulfill that goal. September 26, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia looks like the time.

It really is so nice to be back haha! although my fitness journey has to start all over again, I`m finding myself more determined! I`ve already lost about 40 pounds since she`s been born so I`m doing fairly well :D

You have an amazing back, bro. The separation between all the muscles are there. It's incredible and you should be proud. I cannot seem to beef up my lats, suggestions? (I do DB shrugs and BB shrugs) Behind the back shrugs perhaps?
