When I Started:
1977
How I Started:
I had been a bodybuilder back in my 20's and did very well with it. I made some very poor choices since then and let it all go. I am now in the process of getting back to where I was years ago as well as making a career transformation at the same time.
Why I Love It:
I love the post-workout pump and "high" as well as knowing I am doing something good for myself. I am also looking for a local workout partner to keep me accountable.
How I Stay Motivated:
I get to the gym and see men in better shape than myself which motivates me to keep at it. I run with the winners so it lights a fire under me to be a winner too.
BB Accomplishments:
No contests so far however the fact that I got off the couch and quit wishing and started doing is my biggest accomplishment so far.

Goal (Long):
All of my life, I have admired people who were very fit and very positive and I felt bad that I wasn't either one. While I have worked on self-improvement in many ways over the years, I now understand that my answer is to become what I admire. A huge motivator for me is to see others that have done what I am in the process of doing. Online friends are great however what really gets me stoked is to meet people locally in real time who are fit and very positive. I am also working on a career transformation from factory worker to fitness trainer and wish to meet others who have changed careers.
I also seek a local workout partner or two to keep me motivated and accountable. I need some real-time friends to keep me stoked.
TheTMan inspires me in that he has bounced back after so many setbacks. If he can get the SUPERB physique he has after being incapacitated , fat and depressed, then so can I !
The last time I worked with my trainer, he pretty much gave me a lecture to the effect that I need to "grow a set" and work harder on my training. Then , a really good guy on the site ( you know hwo you are! ) gets after me to write in my blog more often, so there seems to be...
I hope things get better for you my friend and I'll be praying for you. I know just how you feel I got married and bought a house and moved my wife and I in from separate apartments. So I was gone for quite a while too.
Dave, good luck with the move. Nothing is more important than good meal planning when you move! Especially when you are on the path to fitness success.
