I had spent my teens, 20's and 30's overweight. I dedcided I was not going to spend the last half of my life overweight and this was the time to get healthy.
Why I Love It:
I love not only the energy but also the stamina I get from working out. I have never had this much energy, not even in my teens.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look in the mirror and look at pictures of me taken 2 or 3 years ago. That's all I need.
BB Accomplishments:
I've lost 30 lbs of fat since Christmas!

I want to lose the fat around my middle. Namely drop 65 lbs. and 18 % body fat. I want a six pack. Everyone tells me a six pack is unobtainable, especially at my age. But I see guys on this site and others like it who have acheived it. I think that's a cop out because they don't want to do the work or make the sacrifices.
Just thought that I would drop by and wish you all the best of the season and hope that everything is going well with your fitness routine. Stay strong, believe in yourself and what you can accomplish and I look forward to watching your continued progression in 2008.
DAMMMMM YOU like branch warren ? i just watched yuor video. I was not happy he wasnt at this years MR O . i have pics of him in my gym. he traines all out. T T U S bud peace !
I wish you much success with your goals and hope that you are able to stay focused and motivated. You are doing something (kayaking) that I really want to try one day. My wife and I talk about either a canoe or a kayak and taking to the water. It must be great.
Keep the faith.
I read your long term goal and agree with you. A six pack is absolutely, unequivocally obtainable. It's as you said, takes a lot of hard work and discipline, but you can do it if you really want it. I believe diet has more to do with cutting than anything else. Keep a food journal, keep everything you eat logged. Target a calorie limit and stay within 200 cals/day of that limit. Get rid of all man made carbs..ie breads, pasta, box cereal, pancakes etc, replace with complex carbs.
