When I Started:
Jun, 2004
How I Started:
I first started working out when I played football my sophmore year in high school. I was really out of shape, and football got me into okay shape. I decided to quit football after junior year, so I started getting fat again. I was about pudgy 245 lbs, but that all changed when I went on the "Abs Diet" at the end of Junior year. In 6 weeks I lost 40 lbs, by just eating right and hitting the gym. So from then on I pretty much just focused on keeping myself trim and fit, not really focusing on size. I also did boxing last year, which helped me stay toned. Then a couple months ago(July 07') I saw "Pumping Iron" and read Arnold Swarzenegger's Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding, and decided that I wanted to start Bodybuilding.
Why I Love It:
I love the pump you get after you have just trained a muscle, and I love seeing the results of a great workout routine. I love getting compliments from people who haven't seen you in months and they see a huge improvement.
How I Stay Motivated:
I just think of all the people that used to make fun of me because I was fat and out of shape. And of course I do it for the ladies haha. But I think the biggest motivation is the desire to better myself, and to reach my goals.
BB Accomplishments:
Losing weight and keeping off the freshman 15.

I've decided to compete in my first competition in about 1 year, and I am psyched. I almost wish I could fastforward to the competition, but that would mean missing all of the fun of training. Starting tomorrow, I will increase my caloric intake to go into a mass gaining phase. I think...

I wanted to go last year but couldn't, so I made plans then to try and make it this year :) I was there for a very short time due to expenses but it was a nice trip - I think you would enjoy it too!
Thank you so much for the friendship invite Dan, I appreciate it. I couldn't help but notice your height - I am 6'1" without shoes, and 6'7" with the heels, lol. Best wishes to you on your first competition
